Travel to U.S. hits record NEW YORK (UPI) — A record - breaking 6,786,340 foreign visitors entered the United States for pleasure or business in 1964, says the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA). The $1,225 billion spent by these visitors breaks the previous high for foreign tourist expenditures in the United States, according to ASTA. It's a -wise wife who flatters her man into doing the weekend cooking imder the trees. Even more lucky when her lord and master (so she lets him tliink) prepares such meals as char coal-broiled cUcken, foil-roasted com-on-cob, or com and green pepper kabobs and cold watermelon. Broiler-fryers are one of the most economical buys for the charcoal grill. Allow half a' broiler-fryer per person. Cliicken comes packaged whole, halved, quartered. Some markets carry "butterflyed" broilers, leg and breast combinations, drumsticks only, breasts only) breaded thighs, wings — anyway, the list of possible combinations totals 31. Thor oughly blend all ingredients. Brush chicken halves generously on both sides while barbecuing. Fresh Corn and Green Pepper Kabebt Remove husks from corn, brush off silks and cut Into 2>A mch pieces. String com on skewers, alternating with green pepper squares. Brush with melted butter or margarine. Cook over a very slow-burning charcoal fire 20 to 25 minutes, turning to cook com uniform ly. Remove from skewers, brush with melted butter or margar- me and sprinkle with salt and ground black pepper to taste. Serve hot. Yield: Allow 3 pieces com and 3 squares green pepper per serving.
