one at 14 13 with 3:10 left in the half The first interception of a Sherman pass came with less than two minutes to go and Ri 35 yard field goal with 57 seconds on the clock gave Southern Cal a 16 14 lead at halftime Charlotte took the second half opening kickoff and moved in for another score Randy Rhino returned the second half kickoff 50 yards to the Sun 28 to set up the score PeteRajecki kicked a 25 yard field goal after the Hor nets moved to the eight for a 17 16 Charlotte lead Marty Huff intercepted a Sun pass on the next series but Ra jecki missed a field goal on that possession Ricardo also missed a field goal in the third period and the Hornets were forced to punt on their possession The Sun took over late in the third period and drove for the deci sive score Davis scored Sullivan for the two point conversion The alcons enjoyed a 14 8 halftime lead as Scott Neal re turned a punt 41 yards for a touchdown and Hayden ran the two point conversion Neither team was able to score in the third quarter but when Jordan hurled deep to the Red Imps tallied early in the fourth period on a 19 yard run by Overcash to tie the game at 14 14 The Red Imps scored the de cisive
