Mr. Elliott was born May 18, 1933, in Kirwin. He was a farmer and stockman. Survivors include his wife, Delores Berniece; a son, Denny of Phillipsburg; four daughters, Darlene Carman and Angle Wisinger, both of Phillipsburg, Julie Tweedy of Kirwin and Janet Boeve of Katy Texas; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Mr. Mesa was born April 27, 1902, in Jucutacato Michoacan, Mexico. He retired in 1966 from Independent Salt Mine, Kanopolis. He was preceded in death by two sons, Joseph, in 1988, and M. Philip, in 2005; a daughter.

today at the church. Dorothy Marie Sander OAKLEY Dorothy Marie Sander, 77, Oakley died Thursday June 8,2006. Mrs. Sander was born Dorothy Marie Stwalley on Nov. 7,1928, in Logan County She was an advertising customer representative for Mountain Bell Telephone Denver.

She was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, in 1993. Survivors include her husband, Edwin, of Oakley; two sons, Richard L. of Fruita, and Robert A. of Golden, a daughter, Linda S. Kentch of Topeka; a sister, Mary Louise Schoenberger of Oakley; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

9,1923, in Des Moines, Iowa. She was a retired receptionist for a dentist office. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Loren, in 1955. Survivors include two sons, Jerry of Greeley and Brian of Hays; a sister, Dolores Wiley of St. Francis; five grandchildren; and six grandchildren.

Mrs. Vesterberg was born Alma Linnea Larson on Dec. 26,1909, in Delphos. She was a farm housewife. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, in 1999.

Stolen money spotted at casino TOPEKA Video surveU- lance from the Harrah's casino on the Pottawatomie Reservation the night of a robbery at Bennington State Bank in Salina showed one of the robbers laundering stolen money through gambling machines. According to a news release from U.S.

Attorney Eric Melgren's office, $400 in currency stained with red dye was seized from the machines. The man at the machines was Tieng Kham Noy Singanonh, 25, Salina, who pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of bank robbery He appeared before U.S. District Judge Sam A. Crow in Topeka. According to the news release, a dye pack exploded when Singanonh and another man left the bank, 200 S.

Ninth, after the robbery on Dec. 19. Singanonh had vaulted the teller counter, sprayed pepper spray at the employees and grabbed money from the drawers. The pair had just left the bank and gotten into a vehicle when a dye pack exploded. other suspect in the case, Vi- laysack Siharath, was arrested walking down a street near the bank with red dye on his clothing.

He is awaiting trial. In addition to the tape from the casino, investigators also obtained video surveillance from a local convenience store showing Singanonh passing a $50 bin with red dye stain on it. Singanonh faces a maxi- mum penalty of 20 years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000. His sentencing is set for Aug. 30.

Salinans face vehicle burglary charges Salina police arrested two 17-year-olds on suspicion of vehicle burglary early Wednesday and in the process cleared two other similar cases, said Barry Plimkett, deputy chief of the Salina Police Department. Steven A. Schneider, 1114 Hunter Court, and Thanh Tran, 2200 Meadowlark, each face multiple charges. Police received a call around 5 a.m. Wednesday of suspicious activity at Chapel Ridge Apartments, 2363 Chapel Ridge.

Schneider and Tran were arrested near there in the area of Magnolia and Belmont. Two vehicles had been burglarized at Chapel Ridge, with a total loss of about $300. As a result of the investigation, police also cleared vehicle burglaries at 719 Max and 2634 Robin that had occurred earlier in the week, Plunkett said. Hutch man arrested on drug charges Acting on a tip, the Drug Task Force arrested a Hutchinson man Wednesday night and seized $20,000 worth of marijuana and cocaine, said Lt. Mike Sweeney the ask force commander.

Juan Garcia, 25, faces a riety of drug charges. At about 9:30, task force members used a drug dog when they found Garcia's 2003 Cadillac parked at WUd Wild West Gentlemen's Club on Kansas Highway 140, Sweeney said. The dog indicated the presence of drugs, and the officers received consent to search and found four plastic baggies, each holding four bricks of marijuana weighing a total of about 15 pounds. Officers searched Garcia and found 15.7 grams of cocaine, Sweeney said. Hutchinson officers searched Garcia's home in Hutchinson and found more drugs, Sweeney said.

The Hutchinson Police Department didn't return phone calls Thursday afternoon seeking information about the search. Two injured south of Clay Center CLAY CENTER Two people were injured Wednesday in the collision of a tractor- trailer and car on Kansas Highway 15. According to a Kansas Highway Patrol report, Sharon Martin, 55, Manhattan, was attempting to make a U-turn 16 miles south of Clay Center when her car was struck by the semi driven by Gary Howie, 46, Abilene. Martin was taken to Clay County Hospital; No information on her condition was avaUable Thursday Howie was taken to Memorial Hospital in Abilene, where he was listed in fair condition Thursday Both drivers were wearing seat belts, according to the report. Witness follows suspect on foot A witness to a hit-and-run crash at Crawford and Broadway streets not only called police but followed the suspect who fled on foot, police said.

The suspect, who fled on foot, was followed by the witness, a 51-year-old woman. Young was apprehended by police about two blocks away near Hancock Street.

He was cited for running a red light, leaving the scene of an accident, speeding, failure to report an accident and failure to have proof of insurance and a driver's license. 1 Peter 5:6 (NIV) 1 person arrested, 2 sought Armed men entered house on Sheridan late Wednesday By DARRIN STINEMAN Salina Journal One person was jailed and police are seeking two others following an incident late Wednesday in which two armed men forcibly entered a house at 740 Sheridan. Charles E. Collins, 26, Topeka, was in the Saline County JaU and faces numerous charges. Barry Plunkett, deputy chief of the Salina Police Department, gave this account: At 11:16 p.m. Wednesday police responded to a call that two unknown black men with handguns had forced their way into the house.

An argument ensued, and one of the residents of the house, Julietta J. Cox, 29, was able to force one of the armed men outside. Arthur E. Jackson, 33, who also lives at 740 Sheridan, got into a struggle with Collins and was able to get the gun away from him. Police arrived as Collins was leaving the house with Jackson following behind.

By that time, the man Cox had forced out of the house had gotten into a vehicle which was occupied by an unidentified woman and fled. Those two are being sought, Plunkett said Thursday. Irene was born on November 23, 1920, to John and Anna Linenberger at McCracken, Kansas, the 11th born in a family of 14 children. She graduated from LaCrosse, Kansas High School in 1938 and went on to nurse's training at Halstead, Kansas School of Nursing. She received her nursing diploma and R.N. Certificate in 1941. Immediately after graduation, she started her nursing career at St.

Anthony Hospital in Hays. Irene was married to Eli Boucher on November 25, 1942 at LaCrosse, Kansas. Thirty-two of those years were at St. Anthony Hospital in Hays, which later became Hays Medical Center.

She also assisted Doctors with clinics for children, athletes and other community services. Irene was a dedicated nurse, giving her patients complete and loving care was a passion of hers and not just a job. Her soft-spoken words of comfort and encouragement and her skilled patient care made her patients feel better when she entered the room. Her total commitment and loving care for her patient was exceeded only by the commitment and loving care for her family. She took great pride in the many thank you notes she received by mail or in person from her former padents.

Irene was preceded In death by her parents, seven brothers, and six sisters. She is survived by her husband of the home and five children, Cheryl and her husband Richard Wander of Olathe; Michele and her husband Max Heidrick of Beloit, KS; Greg and his wife Linda of Athens, GA; Brian and his wife Margaret of Alma, KS; and Dana and his finance Jeanette Alexander of Fairway, KS. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 16000 W.
