PAGB Girl Scouts 40th Anniversary To Be Celebrated Saturday Today marks. the 40Ui anniversary of the first troop meeting of the Girl Scouts of America and to celebrate that founding local Scouts, Brownies and their fathers will meet in Hubbard Hall Saturday at 6:30 p.m.

Mrs. Juliette Gordon Lw, a native of Savannah, who lived in England several years, brought Scouting to the United States and held the first troop meeting in her home March 12, 1912. Their training has equipped them to serve better their families, their communities and our country. "I congratulate the Girl Scouts! on reaching this milestone when it is said life only begins. I wish the organization, the girls themselves, and particularly the adult volunteers their leaders, their sponsors and advisors continued success in their very worthwhile undertaking."
