DEATHS AND FUNERALS ALVTN L. SNYDER JR. Veteran City Magician Dies The funeral will be for Alvin L. Snyder one of tne most tamous semiprotession al masicians in America. Mr.

Snyder, 68, of 911 Highland Road, was dead on arrival Tuesday at Charleston Memorial Hospital after apparently suffering a heart attack at his home. A magician since 1919, he billed himself as the "Capitol's Capital Entertainer." In February of this year, Mr. Snyder received, for the second time, the Outstanding International Magician of the Year Award. The award was presented to Mr. Snyder at the group's 39th annual convention in Columbus, Ohio.

He received the first award in 1963. Besides those two awards, he also received the Coke Cecil Cup for the best act at the 1958 southeastern Magicians convention. Mr. Snyder contributed frequently to various trade magazines and at one time was editor and publisher of the Osirian Magazine of Magic and associate editor of the Magic Journal. He was a charter member of the International Association of Magicians and belonged to the group's Order of Martin, which is open only to those with 25 consecutive years ea nerience.

He was also a mem ber of Society of American Magicians. He was a self employe advertising salesman and a member of the Christ Church United Methodist. Survivors: wife. Edith Lee; daughter, Mrs. Jo Ann Childress ot Aiexanana, muuiei, Paul A.
