Kins ot Menden became the bride of Mr. Almon Gerard Stevens, son of Mr and Mrs. Harry Stevens of Cheshire Street, on Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock in St. Paul's Universalist Church. Menden, where Rev.

Isaac Smith performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given in marriage bv her father, was attended hv hr sister-in-law. Mrs. Henry T. Dr.

and Mrs. Stanley B. Weld of Steele Road, West Hartford, announce the engagement of their daughter. Miss Barbara Weld, to Lieutenant William McGuire. USNR.

son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. McGuire of St. George, Staten Island.

N. Y. Miss Weld attended Oxford School and is a graduate of Colbv Junior College and Connecticut College for Women. She Is a member of the Cotillion Club and a provisional member of the Junior League of Hartford. Lieutenant McGuire graduated from Bucknell University Schou of Engineering in 1942 and is now stationed in Philadelphia.

The bridal gown was fashioned of white brocade with a full skirt terminating in a cathedral train. Her illusion veil was arranged from a wreath of orange blossoms. The matron or honor was gowned in an American beauty faille bouffant frock. She carried a bouquet of mixed flowers. The bridesmaids were dressed similarly, in gray faille bouffant gowns with bouquets of American beauty roses.

Mrs. Stevens was graduated in 1939 from the Howe-Marot School in Thompson and from Connecticut College in New London. Mr. Stevens is a graduate of Suf- field Academy in the class of 1939 and attended Dartmouth College where he was a member of the Miss Via He Is Fiancee Of Aaron Pratt Mrs. G.

Walter Vialle of Concord. announces the engagement of her daughter, Miss Virginia Vialle, to Sergeant Aaron Paul Pratt, of the Army Medical Corps, son of Dr. and Mrs. Aaron Paul Pratt of Windsor. Miss Vialle is a graduate of Concord Academy and Pierce Secretarial School in Boston.
