Baltimore Gas and Electric Company on May 21, 1990, filed with the Commission an application together with revised rate schedules for the sale of electric energy to be implemented in two (2) Phases. In Phase under tariff Supplement 266 to P.S.C. Md. E-6 (Electric), submitted electric rate schedules designed to produce additional gross annual revenues of $198,000,000, an increase of approximately 12.1 percent, to become effective with service rendered on and after June 20, 1990. In Phase II, under tariff Supplement 267 to P.S.C.

Md. E-6 (Electric), submitted electric rate schedules designed to produce additional gross annual revenues of $52,000,000, to become effective June 1, 1991. Pursuant to Section 70 of The Public Service Commission Law, the Commission after consideration, determines and concludes upon its own motion that the aforesaid revised Phase I rate schedules for the sale of electric energy should be suspended in order to provide opportunity for the Commission to determine the justice and reasonableness thereof. With respect to the Phase II rate schedules, identified as Supplement 267 to P.S.C. Md.

E-6 (Electric), the Commission will take such action as it deems appropriate. IT IS, THEREFORE, this 25th day of May, in the year Nineteen Hundred and Ninety, by the Public Service Commission of Maryland, ORDERED: (1) That the revised Phase I rate schedules identified as Supplement 266 to P.S.C. Md. E-6 (Electric) for the sale of electric energy filed with the Commission on May 21, 1990, by Baltimore Gas and Electric Company are hereby, suspended for a period of not more than 150 days from June 20, 1990. (2) That proceedings as to the justice and reasonableness of the revised Phase I rate schedules for electric energy hereinbefore suspended are hereby, instituted by the Commission.

(3) That persons, who can demonstrate sufficient interest and desire to produce direct evidence, may request leave to intervene in this proceeding, through their own counsel, by filing with the Executive Secretary of the Public Service Commission, 231 E. Baltimore Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21202, eleven (11) copies of a Petition Requesting Leave to Intervene by no later than the close of business on Monday, June 11, 1990.
