Floating Mattresses Cited In Lincoln Man's Death LOGAN Two mattresses floating inside a submerged station wagon may have cost a Lincoln County man his life. Troopers at Logan said ev idence indicated Ray Frye, 50, of Branchland, put up a valiant fight to get out of his submerged station wagon after it ran into Guyari River at Rum Creek early today, but the mattresses floated between Frye and the only vehicle door he had time to reach. Frye was dead on arrival at Logan General Hospital short ly after 2:30 a.m. accident on W.Va. 10 about 5 miles east of Logan, Trooper G.A.
