PtgtHC NEWS-HERALD, Puiuna City, FL»., Sunday, Jtue 91, OPEN ALL DAY JULY 4TH PANAMA PLAZA W. 1STH ST. CALVANIZEI RUST.RESISTAMT! CAU 785*4633 er A Record IOWA CITY, IOWA (UPI) Johnny Miller, a self-admitted "frqe spirit" who is leading pro golf9s money winning list, says he has no designs on breaking any records for most dollars earned in one season. In fact, the27-yearold former U.S. Open champion says he plans to slow down the rest of the year and participate in fewer tournaments. Miller, thanks to victories in the first three major tourneys of the year, has won more than $200,000 this year after earning $127,000 in 1973. His fast start this season prompted many golf observers to tab him as one of the heir-apparents to Jack N7cklaus' leadership on the tour and a likely choice to top the all-time money winning record for one year. But Miller has shunned the .super-star syndrome that usually accompanies athletes in his lofty money-earning level. "I just have no' desire to break any records in money earned," Miller said. "Sure, I want to win, but it's just a matter of pcking up my paycheck and going home to spend time with my family. '•' Miller and his wife have two children with a third expected Within A month. He is quick to point out that he has never played In a large number of tourneys before winning the Open last year. "I hate to feel like we are cattle with people shoving Us around, telling us when to play and how many times we should play and how much money 1 can win," Miller said. "I like to think of myself as a free spirit and I want my freedom, and there are just some things on the tour that take them away from you." Some of the provisions of the law that all motor vehicle owners should know: LICENSE PLATES FOR THREE YEARS Tax paid annually, as in the past, with revalidation stickers to be provided in 1975 & 1976. LICENSE PLATES TO GO WITH THE MOTORIST ... AND NOT THE VEHICLE. License plates may be switched from one vehicle to another (if the weight classification is the same) provided APPLICATION IS MADE FOR TAG AND TITLE TRANSFER AT THE TAX COLLECTORS OFFICE. WHEN A VEHICLE CHANGES OWNERSHIP, IT CANNOT BE TAGGED UNLESS TITLE IS TRANSFERRED TO THE NEW OWNER. If you purchase a motor vehicle, be certain you are provided proper papers to obtain Florida title. Without such papers, you cannot buy a license plate, nor transfer a tag you may own, to the vehicle. VALID VEHICLE REGISTRATION PAPERS MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION BY LAW ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITIES. An owner or driver of a vehicle will be in violation of the law if he cannot produce a valid registration upon request by a law enforcement officer. If more than one person drives a vehicle, you may wish to have certified copies of the registration for each driver. Certified copies will be available from the Tax Collectors office at a cost of 50 cents each. Otherwise, the registration should be kept in the vehicle at all times. REGISTRATION ONLY - NO TITLE ISSUED If the tag registration form to a vehicle you now own is marked "REGISTRATION ONLY - NO TITLE ISSUED" you should begin efforts to secure Florida title because of difficulties you will encounter if you decide to sell or trade the vehicle at a later date. Those persons holding REGISTRATION ONLY papers can buy a tag for the vehicle this year, but if the vehicle has changed ownership since the REGISTRATION ONLY papers were issued, we cannot issue new license plates until title application is made. Non-residents in Florida on military assignment will be permitted to register a vehicle without transferring title issued to them by another s,ae A PERSONAL MESSAGE There are additional changes that become effective tomorrow. This notice is published to alert you to some of the more important changes. If you purchase a vehicle in this state, be sure you are provided documents that will secure a Florida title. Otherwise you won't be able to purchase a license plate for the vehicle. And you should have valid registration papers available with the vehicle at all times. Please be assured that this office will assist you in anyway possible and will attempt to answer any questions you might have concerning the new laws. Thank You Donnell Brookins Tax Collector
