% TWENTY-FOUR EVENING TIMES; CUMBERLAND, MD, FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 1955 Dial PA-2-4600 for • WANT AD Taker Girl Scouts Lone Troop Association Holds "Flying Up" Ceremony In Eeyser Church; Many Advance : KEYSEB — "Flying up" ceremonies sponsored by tlie Girl Scout Lone Troop Association were held 'Sunday in' Keyser Presbyterian Church. Brownie Scouts who have passed their tenth birthday and have met : the other requirements for promotion are eligible to become Girl Scouts. There were 28 Brownies who "flew-up" Sunday and two other girls who joined the ranks, not coming from ,tlie Brownies. Second class rank badges were awarded 35 Intermediate Scouts, and recognition was given Anna Kathrine Snyder of Troop 5 for her achievements in swimming and lifesaving at the Girl Scout camp this past summer, Six senior scouts, having been passed on by the board of review earlier, were awarded good grooming badges. Mrs. Nelle Smith, leader of Brownie Troop 2, presented wings to 13 girls, who were then invested and received into Intermediate Scout Troop 1 by Mrs. Ross Prysock, leader, assisted by Sydney Sylvester. Mrs. Roy Davidson, leader of Intermediate Scout Troop 4, received 12 girls from Mrs. J. T. Watson, leader of Brownie Troop 3, and three girls from Mrs. Susan Redman, leader of. Brownie Troop 3, assisted by Cindy Welsonce. Brownies who "flcw-up" from Troop 2 include Nancy Baldwin, Susan Cuppett, Sylvia Dorsey, Sue Ann Droppleman, Linda Lou Line- abaugh, Sandra McGee, Freda Me. Nemar, Karen Mills, Ann Palmer, Daryl Lee Prysock,- Sandra Staggs, Judy Taylor and Vicki Wilson. Troop 3: Carol Anderson, Diane Ervin, Jennifer Gerstell, Susie Huffman, Susan Johnson, Mary Marsh, Kitty Parker, Kay Ridder, Linda Shaffer, Susie Shelton, Jean- nette Shcpp and Mary Belly Wright. Troop 8 : Sylvia Redman, Carol Hamilton and Gloria Smith; The other girls who were invested by Mrs. Davidson are Vida Cuppett and Brenda Divilbliss. The Intermediate Girl Scouts receiving second class rank front Mrs. Davidson are Ann Allen, Margaret Anderson, June Brown, Diane Baldwin, Janet Carney, Judy Edwards, Karen Fearer, Mary Louise Finnell, Mary Shaffer and Cindy Welshonce.
