Pin A Medal On Clouseau By NEVART APIK1AN Peter Sellers returns as bumbling Police Inspector Jacques Clouseau in "The Pink Panther Strikes Again." It's time to loosen your belt for belly laughs and for lessening your inhibitions to enjoy this zaniest of detectives. The secret of Clouseau's success is that, while you may be doubled over with laughter, he is perfectly the utterance of the most peculiar of accents. After three of the pink Panther films, Herbert Lorn as Inspector Dreyfus is in a psychiatric hospital. He is prepared for a sanity only to get out to kill Inspector Clouseau. Movie Review Lorn plots and Clouseau escapes, through sheer dumb luck.

The plot romps through a kidnaping in England, murders in a Mumich beer hall, a "Doomsday" machine which obliterates buildings into the Fifth Dimension and the antics of a lovely spy, Lesley Anne Down, who forgets her assignment to kill Clouseau when she falls in love with him. There's even a cameo appearance by Omar Sharif as an Egyptian killer. The Oval Office at the White House is included in a spoof on a football loving president and a secretary of state who talks just like Kissinger. The opening is an exercise in vicarious mayhem. It's a release of energy to watch Clouseau and his cook.

Cato, take apart the apartment as well as themselves in slapstick karate. Sellers' spoof of an interrogation at an English country home were you doing at the time of the is excellent. His disguises include those of the Hunchback of Notre Dame and a dentist who takes more laughing gas than his patient. Producer director writer Blake Edwards spares no scenes for use of Clouseau's fractured accents on "rheum," or "pheune," or "Meunich," to name just a few words he slaughters. The titles of the cartoon Pink Panther are not as entertaining as those in "The Return of the Pink Panther." However, when the cartoon character shows up on a mountain, as in "Sound of it's a winning second.

Like the Doomsday Machine, which is no match for the accident prone Clouseau, the film is far zanier than any previous ones. Lorn is excellent as the one time French head of the surete who has gone crazy watching Clouseau operate Sellers is in rare form and his every movement is geared to win laughter. His Inspector Clouseau deserves a medal. Movies Show Time BAYBERRY 4 Sky Rider" 7:30. "Fighting Mad'" 9: 15.
