CALL fOK AH APMHWMfMI TODAY Dr. DAVID DeFRIES 2218 Providence Chester TR 6-1129 the representation election in the favor of Local 77, Turnpike and Public Service Employes Union, by a 251-225 margin. Belefonte is asking that 22 votes, declared ineligible because of the hiring 'date of the employes, be reconsidered.

The county is taking the position that cutoff date for eligibility for last October's balloting should be Oct. 12, the date of the PLRB's order for an election, instead of Aug. 3, the last day of PLRB hearings to certify Local 77 as a legitimate contender for representing the workers, he said. According to Belefonte the 43rd vote is- one which was not -counted because of a discrepancy between a name appeared on the eligibility roster and the ballot cast. In addition, the county is arguing that nine votes voided because of irregularities in the method of marking a choice either for or against union representation should be counted.

If the county ultimately wins on all of its challenges, the tally could become 257-251 against union representation. The matter is now in the hands of PLRB officials in Harr'isburg who are expected to set a date for a hearing shor- tlv.
