Around 11:20 p.m., "Some customers would have seen dim lights. Others would have been in a no light situation," he continued. The electric company contacted Gettysburg Police Department at 11:29 p.m., to report a partial outage at the hospital, and also to advise that their sensors indicated the problem originated at a pole at the intersection of Middle and Washington streets, said police.

An officer went to the intersection, but did not observe anything out of the ordinary. The hospital went on divert status and requested additional gen- erators from the power company so that it could care for the patients it already had. Although residents' electric came on around 11:56 p.m., the 'hospital still had a partial outage at 12:20 a.m. Monday. Due to shift changes, it is not known when the hospital's power came back on.
