These 52 employees provide support for 135 dependents. 34 of our 52 employees are home-owners who pay over $7,646.00 in Rwl Estate taxes annually. 18 of our employees rent their homes and pay over $7,000.00 in rents annually. Our total sales of 1958 was $2,470,239.00. Our annual pay roll for commissions, wages, vacations and bonuses amount close to $275,000.00. Our Investments in buildings, machinery, parts, accessories, supplies, cash and receivables run over $850,000.00, which means an Investment of over $16,346.00 to provide one job for each employee. Our 52 employees play an Important part in the daily lives of our community. These 52 employees, plus their 135 dependents, make up a total of 187 persons who must buy food, clothing, appliances, and the services of telephone, light, heat, doctors, plumbers, electricians and others to make up the daily necessities of life.' We find that some of our employees belong to Elks, to V.F.W., to Eagles, Masons, Moose, K. of C, American Legion, labor Unions, Chamber of Commerce and almost every other organization of this community. Our people are active in Boy Scout work, YMCA work, and they represent membership in nearly every church group. Their children attend nearly every school in Austjn and vicinity. Some of our employees teach Sunday School, others sing in church choirs, and nearly all are serving our community in one capacity or another. Usem Chevrolet Company feels the responsibility for our 52 employees, plus their 135 dependents, making a total of 187 people. We provide our employees with paid vacations, free hospitalization and life insurance coverage, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas gifts, and year-end bonuses. In 1958 we furnished over $15,000.00 in free policy adjustments on new and used cars We spent $100,220.00 locally for supplies, advertising, freight and express, telephone and telegraph, rent, insurance, heat, light and power and other maintenance items necessary for the operation of our business. We spent $7,128.00 In local taxes. Our employees spent many hours in factory training for their particular jobs. We spent $24,987.00 for Social Security, Unemployment insurance, Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Group Life insurance for our employees. We are proud of our contribution to the growth of our fine community and we took forward to serving you even better in 1959.
