The most elegant and beautiful cane and mahogany furniture ever brought to this market can lie found at C. A. Dahlich's, 1409 Colorado street. TIIH AISTIN' FI HSITI IIK CO. HecflvInK the DrUUIII Hotel's Xfw Furniture.

Tbereh as been great deal said about the big improvements going on at the Driskill hotel in the way of remodelling, but nothing alsmt the new furnishings which will be placed in each room. The order for new furniture and carpets was placed several mouths ago and amounted to several thousand dollars. Mr. James M. Mitchell, proprietor of the Austin Furniture company, was the successful bidder, and got the contract.

The first car load of goods was received last week, being delayed nearly three weeks on account of quarantine. The contract calls for the furniture to be put in place on a certain date, and in order to have no disappointment Mr. Mitchell has been working double force for the past few davs. There is in the neighborhood of 20OO yards of carpet to sew and lay as well as curtains, shades and drapings. It's a job that will keep it big force of men busy for a number or weeks.

The furniture for the bridal chamber is exquisite, being bird's eye maple, with the most expensive brass bed ever brought to Austin. The carpet is the finest quality of velvet, ami harmonizes perfectly with everything in the rooms. Among the other beautiful things which attracted the reporter's eye was a couple of big Waldorf sofas, of solid mahogany, upholstered in heavy blue plush. There are no liner in Austin, and will be nsed In the corridors. If you have time it will pay you to call at the Austin Furniture company's place of business, 805 Congress avenue, and take a look at these goods.

Aside from the stuff to be used ill the Driskill hotel this firm has an elegant line of fine furniture. There is not a house In the city carrying a more complete line. Just a few davs ago they unloaded two car loads of new furniture, and in conversation with, Mr. Mitchell, he said: "They can all advertise their special inducements, but I challenge any dealer in the city to undersell me," ami from the loads that his wagons haul out every day it would seem that the people are familiar with this fact. Mitchell is certainly a pleasant and painstaking gentleman, one who has the confidence of every customer he has.

The reputation of living up to everything he savs has done much to build up the newest furniture business in the city to one of the largest. THE STATE DEPARTMENTS.
