Professional women join Salina Tri-Rivers Business and Professional Women held their chartering ceremony at the Holiday Inn. Sharon Wiber, past state president, was the master of ceremony. Past state presidents Fran Graham, Bev Gering, Jane Hanks and Mollie Beard helped in the chartering ceremony. State president Barb Gibson, president-elect Deborah Lewis and first vice president Mara Crawford installed the new Salina Tri- Rivers Business and Professional Women's officers for 1997-98. The new officers for Tri-Rivers are: Linda Dreier, president (second vice president BPW/KS); Jayne Esely, treasurer; Gig Jones, recording secretary and local organizations representative. A reception followed for members and guests. Tri-Rivers meets first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn. Call Linda Dreier at 826-9180 for details. The 1996-97 Knights of St. Patrick are: Anthony Chipperfield, Gypsum, mechanical engineering; and Phuong T.K. Vu, industrial engineering, and Angela Dawn Waters, industrial engineering, both of Salina. The Knights of St. Patrick award, introduced by Dean Donald Rathbone in 1975 and named for the patron saint of engineers, is awarded to graduating seniors who have achieved high levels of scholarship, leadership and involvement in activities in their department, the College of Engineering, the university and the Manhattan community. • Jennifer R.
