THREE JURORS ACCEPTED PAID AND DISCHARGED Another Special Venire of Seventy-Five Men Ordered Case of Henry Jones Postponed on Account of the Absence of State's Witnesses. The defendant's motion In the case of the State against Henry Yerwuod, charged with killing Malison l.ee, to quash the special venire was granted by Judge Calhoun in the Fifty-third district court at noon yesterday and the case continued until June 1.

Another special venire of seventy-live men was ordered. The three jurors selected Saturday afternoon uefore the motion to quash was made were discharged after having been in the custody of the sher-i iff nearly forty-live hours, The jurors were paid for their time. each receiving $2 per day, or a total of 6. The case of Henry Jones, a white i man, charged with killing Arthur Lane, also while, near Georgetown on b-ruary 1, brought here on a change of venue from Williamson county, was called In the Fifty-third distrkt court (shortly after noon yesterday. Houston. May 6. To the Colored Citizens of Texas: The organization by Texas citizens of African descent of an auxiliary democratic association of honest, law-abiding, peace and liberty loving- colored men wno love trie soum. its people, its traditions, history and institutions, and whose desire is to dwell in harmony and co-operation with the best element of our Anglo-Saxon neighbors, and who regard the maintenance of good will between the races and the cultivation of proper co-operation between the whites and blacks of the south as essential both to the welfare of the south and of the nation, is contemplated, and a call may be issued in the near future. Meanwhile correspond ence is invited from those interested over the state as to the propriety and feasibility of such an organization as affording' an honorable means of improving racial relations.

The aims and purposes of the proposed organization will be educational and patriotic rather than spollative and predatory, and the highest realization will be seen in the improvement of the standards of citizenship among colored men and the promotion of good will between the races.
