BLOODHOUNDS UNABLE TO FINO ANY SORT OF TRIAL She Claimed That the Negro Assaulted Her Within a Short Distance of Her Home While She Was Carrying a Bucket of Water. The sheriff's office was notified about 10 o'clock yesterday morning that a young white woman had been assaulted by negro near her home on north Red River street. Officers with the bloodhounds hastened to investigate, but were unable to find any clue to the negro. The woman claimed that while she was returning to her home from a spring nearby, carrying a pall of water, a negro assaulted her and knocked her down.

The place where the assault was made, the woman said, was only i short distance from her home, but her screams were not heard by the occupants of the house nor by a Mexican who was engaged ln burning trash about a block away. She gave a description of her assailant to the officers, saying he was a large, young, black negro. After committing the assault she said he ran away, going in a northerly direction. The bloodhounds were taken to the place where the alleged apsault occurred, but the only trail they picked up was that of the woman which led to her home. The appearance of- the officers and bloodhounds created; a great deal of excitement in the neighborhood.

"A prophet is not without honor save in his owh country" is as true today, generally, as when first uttered centuries ago. A notable exception to the rule is the popularity of "XXX Pearl," "Texas Pride" and other beers brewed by the San Antonio Brewing association of San Antonio-. The intrinsic merit of these products in the way of purity, medicinal qualities, nutrition and general usefulness has been demonstrated by leading physicians and chemists, and the general verdict of a large proportion of people living right here in Austin, who will testify, without exception, that there is nothing better, ln or out of Texas, than any of the products of the San Antonio Brewing association, $euthbounV 1:10 a.
