The main business was the approving of accounts due for ex-tense In operating the steam plant. The figures show that for each month the steam plant requires about worth of coal to produce one-sixth of the power that was utilized by the city from the dam. Or, In other words, to supply the town with the same water and light power that it had before the dam broke It would require 11200 worth of coal per month, not to count the other nf-ctssary expenses.

This would make the coal bill alone amount to nearly $00,000 per year to furnish the city with the light and power she needs. The question of providing a supply of coal for reserve In case of the Inability of the railroad to furnish enough cars during the cotton seanon to furnish the plant came up, and It was decided to apporpriate $100 to buy a twenty-five days' supply of McAlester coal, the same to be supplied to the city by the lowest bidder. Superintendent Patterson stilted that it would be the first of the next month before the lights would be burning on the avenue circuit The question of tower lights was also discussed, and Superintendent Patterson Instructed to take any action he deemed to be proper to have them burning as soon as possible. The following accounts were, approved: For freight bill of International and flreat Northern railroad, $4.97, Hauling machinery, $35,35. For coal, 1396.12.
