The information came from a reliable source, and acting upon it, Sheriff Thralls organized a party to bant up and if potsible cajiture the gang. The sheriff and his men left on the 19th of pteinber, returned last Thursday the 5th inL, Laving been ecie seventeen days. From Henry Brown, Assistant of this city, who accompanied the exeditionf we learn that the party went from here to the Cheyenne and Arapahoe sjrency, and after consult Mr. Hangbey was ia town on Tuesday caving come through from Osage City, on business connected with the fettle mer.t of the Danford affair. In con ver-sation with him, learned that the only hitch' to a complete settlement; of tbe deficiency between Mr.

Danford and his Cald well creditors, was W. l. C. Smith's salt against the Caldwell people for damages tlaimed br reason of bis detention here. Danford and Smith's attorney had agreed that Smith'd suit would be withrdawn with prejudice, but upon writing to Smith, who is now at Fort Wortlv Tex the latter wired back to know how much Djnford would pay to have him retire.

Since that time the fellow has refused his concent to a withdrawal of the rait unles paid for so doing by Danford or some other party. The iiYiproaskm seems to be that Smith's management as cashier of the I. M. Bank did much to injure the trident. A.
