THE MORNING CALL NEWS 16 SUNDAY, JANUARY 7, 2018 Obituaries Todd C.Miller Todd C. Miller, 56, of Allentown, passed away on Friday December 5, 2018 in his home. Born in Allentown, he was the son of Maynard F. Miller of Allentown and Jane A. (Beichey) Miller of Bethlehem.

Todd was a graduate of Southern It ili mw Lehigh High School. He worked as the ll General Manager for Gus's and Yianni's I 1 Taverna in TODAY Albright, Amy Bodisch, John R. Hayes Ethel A. Hayes, Age 86, of Santa Rosa, CA, left this earth on January 1, 2018 due to non-Hodgkin's lymphoma diagnosed mid-November. Born March 4, 1931 in Allentown, PA to loving parents Edna and William Wil-listein, she graduated from Allentown H.S., enlisted in the Women's Air Force Jan. 15, 1951, stationed after basic training in TX at bases in PA; Tokyo; CO; Germany; and at Hamilton A.B., CA. Married and honorably discharged from the WAFs in 1959, she later divorced; there were no children.

After college classes massage work, she became an occupational therapist in Santa Clara program for special ed. handicapped children for 30 years, also joining the Sisters of Notre Dame for 3 years. She played sports in high school in the WAFs, and was a big fan of the S.F. 49ers Joe Montana. After retirement, she and her partner Henri Bensus-sen moved to Ft.

Bragg, CA, where she drew up plans for the renovation of the old house they bought, made many friends, was a regular at Redwood Health Club and Pacific Phys. Therapy, volunteered at Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens. They moved to Santa Rosa in 2016, finding new friends at Brookdale Paulin Creek. Pre-deceased by her parents and older brother Bill and his first wife Greta, she remained close to Greta's family and to Bill's widow Virginia, and to friends going back to grammar school. A 31 year veteran of the U.S.

Postal Service, Clayton retired as Post Master in Hereford, PA. A member of Assumption BVM Church, Colesville, he previously belonged to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Bethlehem, for 65 years. Clayton was a member of Toastmasters International for many years where he perfected his public speaking skills. He was a Boy Scout Master for 25 years and also served as a volunteer fireman and officer of Se-Wy-Co Fire Company.

After retirement Clayton began oil painting and completed portraits of all 44 presidents and first ladies. The entire collection has been donated to the Valley Forge Freedom Foundation where they currently hang. Clayton was an avid writer with hundreds of pen pals across the U.S.A. "He was quite a guy!" He was predeceased by brothers Earl and Lewis and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Coltman. (Ziegler) Hertzog Ruth E. (Ziegler) Hertzog, 96, formerly of Mertztown, died Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in The Lutheran Home at Topton, Longswamp Township. She was the widow of William D. Hertzog, who died January 21, 2004. Born in Trexler-town, Lehigh County, she was a daughter of the late Luther V.

and Ivie J. (Ziegler) Ziegler. Mrs. Hertzog was a member of Longswamp United Church of Christ, Mertztown. Ruth worked for a short period of time as a sewing machine operator for the former Royal Manufacturing Alburtis, then devoted her time to being a homemaker.

Her joy in life was her being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed camping, gardening and canning her harvest. She was a member of the former Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Mertztown. Survivors: Daughter, Sandra A. (Hertzog) wife of Joel A.

Miller, Alburtis; son, Joseph L. husband of Lise P. (Dellicker) Hertzog, Wyomissing. Other survivors include a sister, Marian E. (Ziegler) wife of John P.

Conrad, Bowers. There are three grandchildren, Bret A. Miller, Joshua J. Hertzog, and Aaron J. Hertzog; six great grandchildren, Meghan A.

Miller, Brooke A. Miller, Trevor J. Hertzog, Ashlee J. Hertzog, Devon L. Hertzog, and Gavin S.

Hertzog. In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by a son William D. Hertzog, II, who died October 18, 2016. Services: A private service to celebrate the life of Ruth E. Hertzog will be held at the convenience of the family.

Inurnment in Longswamp Union Cemetery, Mertztown, will also be held privately. There are no public calling hours. Patterson Lucy C. Patterson, 48, unexpectedly passed away from health related issues Monday Dec. 18th 2017. Lucy was the daughter of Mary and late John Royer. She graduated from Freedom High in 87' later earning her Bachelors in Science, Associates in Arts.

Lucy was loved by many, and remembered by everyone for either her wildly outgoing personality or her huge heart. Lucy could have been anything she wanted with her love to learn and intelligence, but she lead a life controlled by mental illness and addiction. She had recently reached out and became sober for over a year but a lifelong addiction left her body ill and mind vulnerable. Survivors: Mary Royer -mother; Amy Hagenbuch sister; Samuel Royer -brother; Theresa Patterson, 25 daughter; Christopher Patterson, 24 son; Jena Patterson, 23 daughter; Madeline Stoneback, 5 granddaughter; Carly Henninger, 2 granddaughter. Buck in 1943. They lived in Coopersburg for over 30 years, and then moved to Jim Thorpe. She returned to Coopersburg in 2005. She worked at Lehigh University as a Secretary in the English department in the 1970s and was a volunteer at the Moravian Museum in Bethlehem in the 1980s. Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband, Richard W.

Buck, and son, Jeffrey. Survivors: include her three sons, Richard (Connie), Gordon (Mary), and Bill (Kelly), a granddaughter, Melissa (Matthew), and 3 great-granddaughters, Bre-ana, Allison, and Evalynne. Born in Anna L. (Reese) Taylor Anna Laura Reese Taylor, of Christiansburg, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018. She was born in Lansdale, PA on August 23, 1926, to the late John and Anna Mae Reese. Anna was also preceded in death by her brother, John Newton Reese; and husband, Wil-lard Taylor. (Stump) Eberhardt Kristin D. Stump Eberhardt, 42, of Northampton, PA, passed away suddenly Tuesday, January 2, 2018. Kristin was employed by Porzio Life Sciences, LLC of Morristown, NJ, as a Senior Regulatory Analyst. Born in Point Pleasant, Kristin grew up in Toms River, NJ. She was a graduate of Toms River High School East, and attended Ocean County College earning her Paralegal Certification.

She also attended Stockton University earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice. She moved to Northampton 8 years ago where she was a member of the Queenship of Mary Church in Northampton. Kristin was predeceased by her grandparents, Fred and Florence Tollner, Russell Stump, and Harry and Elsie Downs, Sr. xt Survivors: Kristin leaves behind two children, Hannah Madison and Braden Matthew Eberhardt; mother and step father Patricia and Harry Downs, father, Wayne Stump; two sisters, Cheryl McClearyand husband Richard, Dana Mills and husband Robert two brothers, Robert Stump and wife Charyl, Michael Stump and fiancee Jenna Lemoine; grandmother, Mary Louise Stump; 7 nephews, 4 nieces and many loving relatives. She was born January 19, 1934 in Rabatot-falu, Hungary; daughter of the late Koroy and Elona (Shemenck) Domyan. Margit was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John P.

Ertl. Margit immigrated to the United States in 1958. She worked in the garment industry as a presser for 37 years in many Lehigh Valley area factories; retiring in 1996. She was also a member of the I. L.G.W.U.

Margit was previously a parishioner of St. John Capistrano Catholic Church and more recently of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Survivors: Margit is survived by her sisters, Helen Pinter and Anna Kozo both of Bethlehem, Ebolya Domyan, Theresa Szakaly and her brother, Karl Domyan all of Austria, as well as her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Joseph Domyan. Services: Arrangements have been entrusted to Connell Funeral Home.

The wife of the late Fe-renc Varkony of Sciota, and the late Parker Riday of Bar-tonsville, she is survived by her son Zsolt F.

Varkony and wife Pamela who cared for her in her later years, and by a son Robert Varkony and wife Lenora of Cody, Wyoming. She is also survived by four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, as well as numerous relatives in Hungary. Born in Nemesbod, Hungary in 1919, she immigrated to the United States in 1957 with her husband Ferenc Varkony and two sons, following the Hungarian Revolution. She immediately put her excellent cooking and organization skills to work at Varkony's Country Inn in Saylorsburg, which was owned by a family member. Once the family was settled, she helped her husband establish his masonry business throughout the Poconos.

Upon marrying Mr. Riday, she became his partner in Riday's Wildlife Studio in Bartonsville, Monroe County where her savvy business sense and keen eye for quality merchandise helped turn the business into a well-known destination for taxidermy and leather goods. She will be lovingly remembered by her family as their very own Zsa-Zsa Gabor, with her dazzling jewelry and her iron will. Services: Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
