State police at New Buffalo reported that three persons were hospitalised and a fourth rof-fered minor injuries as the re-knit of an auto accident in Sawyer at 10:55 a. m.

Sunday. Three other people also sustained minor injuries when two drivers struck two different bridges over the Galien river near New Buffalo over the week end. The parked cars of church goers were reported to have obstructed, the view at the intersection of the SawyerandNew Troy roads, leading to the accident in Sawyer Sunday morning. Automobiles driven by Emil Cercke, 56, Three Oaks, and Edward Jensen, 17, Sawyer, collided at the middle of the intersection. Cerske's wife, Amelia, and daughter, Agnes, 22, were taken to Mercy hfwnitftl Benton Harbor, where it was reported Mrs.

Cerske was suffering possible internal injuries and bruises and the daughter had a back injury and lacerations of the face Jensen received lacerations and possible internal injuries. He also was taken to Mercy hospital for treatment Cerske sustained minor euta on the left arm and right hand. at 3:30 Saturday after-j NOON James J. Carson, uaiesmirg.i, truck the rail of the Galien river bridge on US-12 north of here and knocked down seven posts. Carson suffered bruises.

State police said Carson told them i he had fallen asleep at the wheel of his car as he was driving south. Damage to his car was figured at $350. A LaPorte, couple received minor injuries at 2:30 a. m. Sunday, when a car driven by Robert Schneck, 22, struck an iron side girder on the Galien river bridge on Whlttaker street between New Buffalo and Lake Michigan.

Schneck told state police he was attempting to turn on the radio in his car and in doing so had veered to close to the edge of the bridge. Schneck sustained injuries on the tar and Ipots and his crvmnanion Miss Viola Lydick, received similar injuries. Five persons were injured in a headon crash a half mile south of Bridgman at 9:45 p. m. Sunday.

Deputies Roscoe Conklin and Victor Hauch reported that Duane Hellwig, 17, of 108 Hobart street, Buchanan, said something went wrong with the steering gear on his auto which Arathd hm1nn wtfti Mr driv en by Miss Edith Gingway, 33, of 512 Park street, St. Joseph. Gingway sustained a severe leg cut and internal injuries and John Ailard, 24, of 6326 Kenwood avenue, Chicago, who was riding with her, suffered deep face lacerations and possible ankle fracture. Qus Burk. 42, colored, 282 Burton street, Benton Harbor, was arrested on a reckless driving charge after his car went into a ditch and rolled over on TJS-31 north of Benton Harbor, early Sunday morning. Burk stated that he was side-swiped by another car going north which did not stop. Alice Brown, 60, an invalid, riding with Burk, was cut and bruised as was Annette Ark, 30, also of Benton Harbor. The accident was investigated by Deputies Victor Hauch and Dale Shafer.

Two persons were injured in a pair of accidents near Paw Paw late Sunday and early today. Max Leskoby, 21, of Decatur, is in Lakeview hospital, Paw Paw, after the motorcycle he was riding bogged down in the mud throwing him. The accident occurred on M-119 opposite the Lawton airport at 5:40 P. m. Sunday.

Arnold W. Thurber, 24, of Paw Paw, received facial bruises and 'other injuries, when he lost con trol of his car at 1:15 this morning, three miles west of Paw Paw, while ftrft lrir(T am4 no 1 rr a rf r-i or vehicle. Thurber's car is reported to have rolled Four Boys Charged With Stealing Auto SOUTH HAVEN, March 18. Two South Haven youths are slated to be arraigned today before Justice Roy S. McCrimmon on car larceny charges and two juveniles are to ap pear before Van Buren Probate Judge Merle H.

Young following the theft of a Lacota car Thursday night. The South Haven boys to be ar raigned here are Charles Barber, 18, and Harry Rowe, 17. The arrests were made by State Police Office Donald BoBo and South Haven Pa trolman Don Hardy. According to officers the four stole a car belonging to Harvey Wood, proprietor of a general store at La- cota. The car was parked in Wood's yard and was reported to have been taken when a car reported by the Barber boy stalled.

After using the Wood car to shove the Barber car for several miles, the youths aban doned the Barber vehicle and came into South Haven in the Wood car which they abandoned near the high school. It was found next morning by Patrolman Hardy. DRUNK IS FINED Leon C. Countryman, 50, 235 Pleasant street, pleaded guilty to drunk and disorderly charges this morning in Benton Harbor Municipal court and paid $15.15 in fine and costs. He was arrested at 11:35 p. m. Sunday at the Melody Grill on Pipestone street, where police said he caused a disturbance.

Attacker Of Girl, 14, Sought By Deputies Sheriff's officers and State Police joined in a search for a man described as being about 27 years old and wearing a brown suit who criminally assaulted a 14-year-old gin at a a. m. aunaay morning. According to the report filed by Deputy Sheriff William Pugh, the 14-year-old girl was at the home of her brother at Paw Paw Lake where she was attending her brother's two small children.

She stated that she was asleep when the man, she thought was drunk, staggered Into the house and asked her where he was. Then he attacked the young gin. The victim's brother searched the neighborhood and obtained some information from patrons of a near- Dy tavern regarding the suspect. The girl now under the care of a physician. Miss Mabel Boardman, Red Cross Leader, Dies WASHINGTON, March 18-(AP)-Miss Mabel T.

Boardman, 85, national secretary of the American Red Cross for almost a half century, died last night of heart disease. Wealthy and serving entirely without pay, Miss Boardman became secretary in 1900. She had Red Cross nurses adopt uniforms and initiated the Red Cross Christmas seal sales. Over the week-end, the received 4,300 pounds of airmail estimated at more than 200.000 letters dated as late as March 8, Col. J. A.

Tor- rens, Eighth Army postal officer, announced today. However, the Durham 'Victory which left San Francisco Feb. 17 with an estimated 47.000 pounds of airmail letters in addition to a large amount of parcel post which ac cumulated in U. S. ports during February hasn arrived.

It was due to dock tonight and speedy distrt bution of the mail was planned. Army postal authorities said the Durham is supposed to be carrying 331,000 pounds of packages and letters, including the delayed airmail. Colonel Torrens said all airmail posted last week in Japan is on its way to the United States by plane. Army and Navy transport planes, he said, loaded 44,000 pounds of home-bound mail. Births Seven births are reported by Mercy hospital for the past three days.
