TEN EVENING TIMES, CUMBERLAND, MD., THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 1955 Dial PA-2-4600 for, a -WANT AD Taker Walt Disney Reported Planning Another Series For TV By JACK O'BRIAN NEW YORK-(INS)-Walt Disney may produce still another TV series (he's virtually a whole network already). . . Gloria De Haven starts a big local show in Miami next Tuesday, from which she'll earn as much as most big network bookings. She'll sing, dance, Interview and play [hostess to a local-type "spectacular" and stay warm all winter, too. . . Miami Beach will originate more and more TV shows starting now with a brace of Eddie Fisher shows this week, Garroway's "To- iday" splashing merrily in local salt waters, Godfrey's shows — mornings 'and evenings — originating there all next week, and lots more to come. .. Biggest Miami TV news is the Kefauver investigation into black market baby adoptions, on both television am radio, which are exciting and almost as fascinating as the Kefauver investigation into the racket syndicates a couple of TV seasons ago. . . Barry Wood, who master-minded the successful "Wide Wide World" TV show for NBC last Sunday, collapsed from a virus and is doing a stretch in the hospital. Wood is the ex-crooner (hit parade, etc.) who graduated to NBC's brass hat department and now is in charge,of all colorcast program ming. . . . NBC will have a fancy wood- produced color program next June 25 U.S. -Navy maneuvers off San Diego, using 25 color cameras in a 90-minute floating "Spectacular." Pioneer TV. Producer Worthington Mine;, who helped early to master its technical and artistic problems, insists "sensational gimmicks" such as "The 564,000 Question" aren't long for this TV world. .. He says the long-run champ's will be "The Quality Anthology Show." . . .by that he means the best dramatic programs.'. . ... The veteran stage - screen - TV producer advises because of. the big talent pools.in NeWrYork and Hollywooti, that newcombers are better off starting in' TV careers in.smaller communities, then moving on to the TV major leagues. Good advice indeed. Hyde To Visit Here Rep. DeWitt S. Hyde will be ,in hii office at the Post Office Building- tomorrow from 1:30. until'5 p. m.. and on Saturday from 9 a. m. until noon. Senate Subcommittee on Juvenile Delinquency in Miami yesterday with a tearful outburst that authorities had taken away her two children. U.
