Regent Theater, is as nutty as a fruitcake (which is how he introduces his cast of characters) and sometimes crumbles; The basic idea of bringing together Adolph Hitler, James Dean, Lenny Bruce, Amelia -Earhart and Aimee Semple McPherson all of whom died or disappeared in mysterious circumstances as "alive and well" in a'hotel in Argentina is 'an interesting idea. where do you go from there? Pritchard rides off in all directions. ri 4 On the one hand Pritchard ri has created an episodic "bur town" idea of a his growing up to fatherhood, hip- piedom, even going to work and finally to the Vietnam war.

That's side-show. At his (t hotel" his characters, whom had voices that could win' the masses, are playing put.their "far from the madding, crowd" lives. Not that Pritchard, with Rex Henriot directing a truly fine cast, has not written some amusing or gripping scenes'. He has a flair for -episodic writing. But even a modern play should jell, should not rely on patching a finale with an expected scene.and substituting a four-letter word for an intelligent finale.

It's true that language is common in plays and movies' and has practically lost its shock value. We accept it as part of the action but deplore it as a substitute for wit. Fritchard has talent; he needs a "plot" for his characters. Zoaunne LeRoy Henribf as Aimee Semple McPherson and Michael Stoddard as James Dean entertain beautifully in their vaudeville act.
