Tfiitsni'Ku, Nov. 8. lire started at three o'clock yesterday morning in George 11, Davis dry goods house on Sycamore street and spread with incredible rapidity, burning down in a short time the whole iron front block and adjoining properties, Tho flames leaped across the street and destroyed Odd Fellows' Hall and five or six other buildings. Lieutenant Critehen, of the polico force, and a man named Thomas were burned to death. Half a block on each side of Sycamore street, from Tabb street westward, is gone.

The aggregato output for tho week was 173,000 barrels, averaging 28,048 barrels daily, against barrels tho previous week and 1.10,000 for tho corresponding" time" in 1888. The mills are favored by tho finest kind of weather, and, though tho water power is extremely poor, there are not. any, even of the watcf mills, that are not at times ablo to run some. 8. Tho burnt district caused by tho fire in East Atchison, opposite this city in Missouri, covered considerable ground but included only ten buildings. The flro started from a lamp explosion in tho Burlington depot, spreading across a wide space of track ground to the ltock Island depot, north, and from thcro across a wido street to a row of eight buildings, chiefly saloons, locally known as "battle row." The destrtrctlon wan complete, including every thing tho building contained. The loss is about insurance light. Tho railroads suffered the greatest loss.
