Rtport of Interments in the City of Baltimore fr the vecc ttnaing on juonaay, Consumption Mtt age Stillborn Infantile n- Wry like a hoax. Our readers will recollect the account published in this paper some weeks since, of the atrocious murder of Judge Dougher. ty, of St. Louis, Mo. Since that time nothing has transpired to give a clue to the perpetrator.

The St. Louis Republican of the 18th, publishes an anonymous letter from Natchez, which came directly to the editors, of which the annexed is a copy. It may be from the murderer, but it looks very like a hoax. 'Natchez, Sept, 21. Messrs Editors Revenge is sweet.

On the nights of the 11th, 12th and 13th, I made pre-pirations, and did; on the llih, (July) kill a ras-cal, and only regret that I have not the privilege of telling tiic circumstance. I have so placed it that I never can be identified and further, I have no compunctions of conscience for the death of Thomas M. Fires in Cincinnati. A fire broke out in the extensive turning establishment of the Messrs. Rodifer, on Broadway near the corner of Fourth street, Cincinnati, on the evening of the 23d, and before it could be got under destroyed tne entire building, with its contents.

A part of the building was occupied by Mr. as a cabinet-maker's shop. On the morning of the another fire took place in a frame tavern, on Water street, near Main st. occupied by Mi. Cady.

The roofs of that and some adjoining buildings were burnt off. Hurra fur the Kilt. The Philadelphia Led-gcr thus notices a recent parade in that city: "It was a braw sight yestreen to see the lads o' the Highlands, a' rigged out in their ain clan colors, marchin' to the tune o' "The Campbells are cominV Wit their kilts an' their philibegs an' their bonnets o' blue, an' their strappan plumes, they lookit for a' the world like the MacGrcgors, gatherin' for a touzle wi' the ither clans. But it was a' maist too cauld to march wi' out the trews." Money recovered. Ten thousand dollars of the government specie, stolen at Fort Crawford, Wisconsin, has been recovered.

leW. IJaltimore and Susquehanna Kail Road. We perceive that leave lias been given in die City Councils, to introduce a bill to afford aid to this company. We should like to know how much the city has already invested in this road; how much the stale, and how much individuals; and what proportion the directorship of the city bears to that of the individual stockholders composing' the company, taking into view the amount invested by each. We are under the impression that the city has now about four times as much capital invested as the individual stockholders, and that comparatively speaking, she has no control whatever over her investments.

If the city should go any further into it, we think it but right she should have a control proportionate to the investments, even if it amounted to one absolute and entire. Will some one acquainted, enlighten us on this subject? The completion of our great works of internal improvement, is one of the objects in which we take the warmest interest. The prosperity of the city depends upon it. But at the same time, we feel no disposition to see the corporation part with Hie money of the city without being able to have a hand in its disposition. They know whence it comes that is one of their duties they should know whither it goes that is another, equally as important.

Legal Decision. In July last John Arentrue and Henry Cleveland were indicted and tried in Philadelphia, for gaming and keeping a faro table. Tiie case was given to the jury, who, after being confined upon it for some time, were discharged by the Court on account of not being able to agree on a verdict. The counsel for the accused "disscntad to the discharge of the jury; and, on the ground that the jury was discharged without urgent necessity and against the wish and desire of the parties under accusat ion, asked that they might be released and set at complete liber-ty. The President Judge, (Todd,) on Saturday rnve a decision upon the motion to release, Under 1 year, 11; between 1 2, 2 5, 5 10.
