The Crackers clicked for its two runs in the fifth. With one out, Kubiszyn ratitled a double off the left fence and Lewis slasted a hit to centerfield. Brown raced over from left field and made a diving bid for a catch but couldn't make it a-nd Lewis had a two-bagger as Kubiszyn scored. Bad-Hop Hit Lewis moved to third on Clemens' groundout arid came home when Morgan got a bad-hop off first baseman Roman's glove. Johnson averted further trouble when the stellar Syracuse center fielder made a spectacular one- handed catch of a loivg drive by Ron Cox in deep center.

The Chiefs drew cheers in fighting off some other dangerous looking bids.
