Bake 45 minutes' or until brown in a preheated, moderate oven (375 degrees FJ. Cook 1 pound scraped or peeled small, new potatoes in 1 cup boll ing water and \\ teaspoon salt in a covered saucepan until tender (15 to 20 minutes). Drain water from peas and potatoes (save liquid for use in the sauce.) Melt 2 tablespoons butter or margarine in a saucepan. Blend in 2 tablespoons flour. Pour the vegetable liquid into measuring cup and finish filling with milk. Gradually add to thJ butter and flour. Cook until medium thickness, stirring constantly Add l ,i- teaspoon each, ground basil leaves and salt, and teaspoon ground, black pepper. SUi in cooked peas and potatoes.
