That's what your banker does. If he didn't he couldn't pay you interest and pay bank stock dividends, could he? Winnipeg is growing rapidly and the incoming people must be taken care of. Why not help take care of them? You know how high rents are, don't you? Suburban property surrounding every large city invariably becomes the real choice residential district. The thing to do is to pick out the property most suitable for suburban residence, then buy. Notre Dame Park lots at the price at which they are offered represent the last plot of choice property, a portion of which you can buy at anything like the price.

Some time ago the bank secured the property now occupied by the W. S. King company, and during the past few weeks architects have been preparing plans for enlarging and remodelling the building.

The tenants of the additional property have not yet been notified to move, but Sir Daniel McMillan and his architect have been looking over the ground and are understood to be working at present uram the project. The interior of the old building will be completely changed as the present arrangements do not give the employees of the institution sufficient work-ine room. The offices of the board and directors' rooms are at present located on the top floor of the building. These will bo removed to the second story when the alterations are made. While no definite plans have been adopted It Is believed that the alterations and addition will cost In the neighborhood of Jfii.000.

It Is now anticipated that the work will be done during the summer months. Likes Canada Best. "They have sunshine In Texas," he said, "and a nice climate In California, but for good healthy weather, bright business prospects, good land, good business and the strenuous life, which results In optimism and success, western Canada Is second to none." He states that Americans generally are much Interested in the development of Western Canada and the large exodus Into this country from the south Is evidence of this. Many Big Contracts. T. R. No permit has as yet been Issued for the Orpheum theatre, nor has the contract been definitely let, according to a statement made to a Tribune reporter this morning by Building Inspector Rodgers.

Statements to the contrary which appeared In some of the city newspapers recently are not founded on fact. The desired permit was withheld by Mr. Rodgers on the ground that Insufficient space Is provided for outside the theatre. The by-law requires apace to the width of 15 feot to be left whereas only 8 ft. are allowed In tlio plans.

The provision Is made to ensure reasonable room for' crowds entering or leaving the theatre. FOOTBALL GAMES TO STRETCH A DOLLAR! A Great Human Interest Story for Daily Tribune Readers, Deal-ing with Home Life in Winnipeg. A Young Married Couple Who Have Succeeded in Solving "The Living Problem" They did it on $2.50 a day all told; that's $15 a week; and they have every comfort they desire. IT'S A BULLY GOOD STORY That John Younglove has written especially for the Tribune, of how he and she worked out the puzzling problem during these days of high prices. It's full of human interest. It wasn't easy at the start for JOHN AND CONSTANCE They were not comfortable and did not live cheaply at first.

Thore was pathos and humor In their experience. BUT THSY WON OUT, and John tells all about it delightfully in HIS SIX-which begins today on page eighteen. DON'T BE SELFISH You owe it to your family to provide them with a home. You expect to do it 6ome day don't you? Why not now? It's a small investment that will mean much to you and to your wife and children. Man was not meant to live in a fiat.

Get out in the open where you can sleep nights after a hard day of business. Out at Notre Dame Park you can have a cottage at least. A mansion if you feel von can afford it, and whichever it is, it wiU be YOUR OWN. Fresh air and sunshine green grass and a garden. That's what it means when you go to Notre Dame Park.

It means too a wholesome atmosphere in which to rear the little ones, who when they are grown, will be able to say, "I have a home." It won't cost you a cent to come in and talk it over with us. BUY A LOT OWN YOUR HOME THIS OVER Ml LlVl Reading 0. Exeter City 1. Swindon Town 0. Luton 0.

"The sermon always comes after the wedding; that Is the chief difference between hanging and matrimony." So said Fielding or words to that effect.

That this view Is not shared by the majority of Winnipeg's marriageable mon and women la proved by the goodly number of matrimonial contracts that were entered Into during last month. Half a dozen every day Sundays and week days was about the average. Race suicide Is apparently not one of the dangers that threaten this western community.
