1922 TRANSCONAS BEAT TIGERS Railroaders Bunch Hits and Register 13 to 3 Victory in Senior Baseball DRANSCONAS handed a 13 to 3 drubbing to Tammany Tigers Thursday evening In a Winnlppeg Senior Baseball league game at Wesley park. The intense heat greatly affected the athlt tefl and as a result the exhibition of bull was below the usual standard. Transconas, however, seemed to like the heat, for they wielded their bats in better style than in any previous, gnme this seuson, collecting a total of 11 hits, and they delivered them at opportune times. Tigers tried out a recruit hurler by the name of Rainford. He got along well for three rounds, but then Transconas started getting to him, and this, combined with his wildness In issuing eight passes, caused him" to bn rierrioked with one down in the seventh.

Gamey finished out on the mound for Tigers and he also had a hard time of it. Chafe pitched effective ball for Transconas. He was almost Invincible In the early rounds, but tired under tho gruelling heat during the latter! stages of the game, but went the full distance. He only allowed five hits and struck out 10 batters. There was not tiny scoring for four innings, but the Transconas, started mixing hits with walks and counted three times in the fifth and four In the sixth.

Tigers counted twice in the sixth, but Transconas came back with foutv more In the seventh and two In the eighth. Tigers managed to count one in their last turn at bat. The game was called at the end of the eighth owing to darkness. Carson McVey was the hitting hero, getting a triple, double and single In four times to batv Caslake, McCulIough and Slngbush collected a brace of lilts.
