R. Annual Meeting Held at Montpelier os Saturday. Mrs. George Walton opened Jier home Saturday to the Daughters of the American Revolution for their annual meeting, which terminated the service of Mrs. H.

M. Farnham as regent. The treasurer's report showed that over $700 have been disbursed during the last year, leaving more than S100 in the treasury, besides two $50 Liberty bonds and $50 in war savings stamps. The triennial report of the secre tary noted that in the three years' gifts of money have been made to the war chest fund, to the Americanization school at Springfield, for the re storation of Tilloley, for prize essays to the Roosevelt Memorial fund, to the charities and probation commission, to the Community club, to the Aear East reuet, and for the support of a rrench orphan each of the three years. The report of the Continental Congress given by Mrs.

C. C. Putnam was not only instructive but full of wit and humor. Mrs. Farnham gave some interesting addition to this report, "Bakings After," she called it, so that with it all each member felt she had personally visited the Congress, The following officers were elected: Regent, Mrs.

L. W. Hanson; vice-regent, Mrs. C. H.

Heaton; recording secretary, Mrs. G. C. Bliss; treasurer, Mrs. E.

H. Prouty; registrar, Mrs. H. M. O'Dell; historian, Mrs.

L. A. New-comb; auditor, Miss Grace Clark. The afternoon was glorious, the house was beautifully decorated with fleur de-lis and other garden flowers, while the greeting brought from Green Mountain chapter, Burlington, by Mrs. Isham, Mrs.

Loomis, Mrs. Lamb and Mrs. Styles, added not a little to the pleasure of the afternoon. Withal it was a very fitting close to an exceptionally successful administration. The retiring regent served refreshments.

Mrs. MeGuire catered. MEETING OF THE BOARD OF CIVIL AUTHORITY JUNE 8, 1921 There will be a meeting of the Board of Civil Authority held on the above date for the purpose of abating taxes, and also for the purpose of hearing and determining any appeals "which have been taken on the action of the Assessors on the Grand List for the year 1921. during Sunday nijrht, entrance having been gained through a second-story window. Earl S. Fox of Brattleboro was fined and cotits in Manchester, N. last week for carrying a concealed weapon. Fox violated the traffic regulations and neglected to have his operators' licence with him, so was taken to the police station, where the usual search di closed a loaded revolver.

The residence and barns of the Er-win Reynolds estate in Sharon were totally "destroyed by fire Friday at a loss of $12,000. The cause of firs is not known. The blaze started in the barn. There was nothing saved in the house or barn, so rapidly did the fire spread. The estate was the former homestead of the late Henry Marsh.

Mr. and Mrs. Francis M. Wilson of Xew York City have turned their sum mer place, Broadview, on the Pownal road, south of Bennington, over for comfort of disabled soldiers during th? Reason. There are five bungalow dwellings for the men and the first con tingent will arrive this week.

For a fortnight they will recuperate on the premises and then will vacate to make room for another oontingent to spend a like time there. This program will be continued during the summer monthc, and the men thus favored will be convalescents from the big hospitals around New York City. All expenses, even to transportation fares, will be provided for them. Press Association Summer Outing. The annual summer outing of the Vermont Press association for 1921 will lie held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 24, 25 and 28.

Members will meet at the Woodstock inn on Friday afternoon, June 24, proceeding the following morning by automobile to Stowe, via the "backbone" road, and lunching en route. Saturday afternoon members of the association and guests will be transported from Stowe to the Summit house on Mount Mansfield, to remain until Sunday afternoon or Monday morning, as desired. At Stowe the association will be the guet of the Mount Mansfield Hotel association, of which Max L. Powell of Burlington is president. There will be a short program at the Summit house Saturday evening.

The preliminary announcement says that "every member of the press association who has a motor ear is expected to be present and has the privilege of filling his car with his family or guests. Every member who is without a car is entitled to invite a guest who has a car, and to fill the car."
