3 The Latest Loca Ernie Sunberg Wins Title From Edmunds In Thirteen Minutes Wielding the hammer and plying the saw will likely become a bygone pus-time with Krnie Sunberg within a short time. La-sl night at the Walker theatre the popular little carpenter-wrestler, the priile of Winnipeg wrestling funs and one of the ch anest boys that ever stepped on a mat, won the most Important bout of his career when ho took the feathi rweight title away from Artie Edmunds of Toronto, In straight fails. And this, too, in despite the faet that Kdmnnds brought into play every low and mean trirk of the Kame. mclud.ug gouging, for whieh he was roundly hissed. It was easy to fie thta the iorts of this elty want to witness clean wrestling, and the brutal aggressiveness of Kdmnnds did not win him any friends.

The triumph of Sunberg was the most popular recorded in this rity since the mat game came into its own. The hundreds of Sunberg partisans could not contain themselves and the cheers for the local boy were tremendous. On the stage Sunberg was lilted high and tossed in the air several times. Mis fellow countrymen simply went Into ecstai ies, and it would he utterly impossible to describe their feelings towards the victor. Once the Toronto gruppler made a rush at Sunberg and the latter stepped nslde like lightning.

In doing so Sunberg twisted Kdmunds in some manner and tossed him away like a Hauling firebrand. Kdtniiiiils went down on the hard Hour with In for. e. but that did not take all the gltm.r out of him, as he was up like a flash and 1'dlowed up his Seeing what Kind of a man he was pitted against. "GUS" CONFIDENT HE WILL BEAT SHEPHERD Big Fellows Go On the Mat at Walker Tonight With Middleweight Championship of Canada the Stake. The big wrestling match at the" Walker theatre tonight should prove one of the best additional attractions of the bonspiel for the many curlers.

In Dick Shepherd and Charlie Gun-tafson enthusiasts of the strenuous game will see two of the finest exponents In America. C.ustafson holds the middleweight championship of Canada and he Is prepared to make a titanic struggle before he yields it. Shepherd will be seven or eight pounds lighter than the "Shifty which brings him into the welterweight class, the title of which he has been in hailing distance of for some time. It should be a rattling fast match, of the scientific and whirlwind variety. Resides two such fine wrestlers for the main event, the preliminary programme should prove very attractive. Hilly Richmond and Geo. Dorey will go on for four rounds, and it should be a hummer. Following this the star men of last night's boxing programme, Geo.

and Billy N'utt, will go on for five rounds. Those who witnessed these men in action will certainly want to see them mix It again.
