British Tanks Sold to Private Belgian Dealers LONDON Uft— The Foreign Office saicTyesterday 15 British World War II tanks have been shipped to Egypt by private Belgian dealers despite official reports to block their export. The tanks were loaded yesterday at Antwerp aboard, the Egyptian vessel El Khira. They were World 1 War valentines and had been reconditioned by a commercial firm in Belgium for military use. A Foreign Office spokesman told a news conference the tanks were slipped out of this country as scrap He said the British government was tightening up its licensing procedures to prevent further unauthorized shipments.
