During WW I1, he was a B-29 pilot stationed on Guam. He had a great interest in sailing and built many boats, furniture and a home in Birmingham, MI. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; two daughters, Christina and Barbara; grandsons, Kevin and Danny McConnell, Tyler and Robert Alexander; granddaughter, Ruby of England; brother, Calvin (Jean) Brown of Franklin, MI; several nieces, nephews and friends. She lived in the Birmingham area since 1949. She had a Masters in Social Work and a Masters of Library Science with Cognates in Archives from Wayne State University. She was a member of the American Library Association and Michigan Archival Association. She has served as the Archivist for the Birmingham Historical Society, Manuscript Chairman for the Oakland County Pioneer and Historical Society, Historian of the Friends of the Baldwin Public Library; Lineage Research Chairman of the Piety Hill Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and National Vice Chairman of the Genealogical Records of the NSDAR. In 1971 she received the Heritage Award of the Birmingham Historical Society.

She documented much of the history of Birmingham and co-authored "The Book of Besides her children she is survived by two grandsons, three step grandsons, and six great-grandchildren. She was a complex and intellectually curious great lady who will be sadly missed by all. Birmingham has lost a true friend. Visitation at the Wm. R.

Retired banker and inveterate cynic, died peacefully at home on December 3, 2006 at age 73. Mr. Flynn, a lifelong member of St. Mary's of Redford parish, was a graduate of of Jesuit High School and Fordham University and received his Master's degree from the University of Detroit. He was the head of the International Department at NBD, relished international travel, and was fluent in both Spanish and French.

In his retirement, he devoted himself to numerous charitable causes and "occasional" golf. His family will sorely miss both his sardonic wit and his comically poor efforts to mask the deep love, affection and dedication he unfailingly showed to his family, his friends and his parish.
