She lived in the Birmingham area since 1949. She had a Masters in Social Work and a Masters of Library Science with Cognates in Archives from Wayne State University. She was a member of the American Library Association and Michigan Archival Association. She has served as the Archivist for the Birmingham Historical Society, Manuscript Chairman for the Oakland County Pioneer and Historical Society, Historian of the Friends of the Baldwin Public Library; Lineage Research Chairman of the Piety Hill Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and National Vice Chairman of the Genealogical Records of the NSDAR. In 1971 she received the Heritage Award of the Birmingham Historical Society.

She documented much of the history of Birmingham and co-authored "The Book of Besides her children she is survived by two grandsons, three step grandsons, and six great-grandchildren.
