Connie of San Saba nnd Mrs. Susie Stoker have been visiting in the home of their daughter nnd sister, Mrs. Henry Lewis. Mrs. Lewis has just returned from the hospital and still unable to have visitors.

Among those attending the 3- Picnic in Browwood Saturday were Mr. nnd Mrs. George Gibson and children, Mr. nnd Mrs. A.

D. McKinnerney and children, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Lewis and children, Mr. and Mrs.

Robert Lewis and children nnd Bob Korcnek nnd children. Mrs. Bob Korenek is a surgical patient in Brownwood Memorial Hospital. Mrs. George Miller spent several days the past week in San Antonio with her sister, Gladys, who is ill.

Mrs. Cleo Gnddy of -San Saba spent one day the past week with her mother, Mrs. Maude Newby. Mrs. Robert Gober of Mercury visited her mother one day last week.

Mrs. Bemice Nicherlson and children visited last week in San Antonio with her mother-in-law and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hendricks are vacationing in Nail, with her parents, Mr.

and Mrs. Alvin White. Visitors during the weekend in the home of Mr. and Mrs. B.

Taylor were surprise visitors with Mrs. Flora Owen Jesse Wednesday, Aug. 9, "at 8 p.m., which was her birthday. Jesse was visiting her sister, Mrs. Mottle Edwards and husband, of San Saba.

She seems to be completely recovered from major surgery which she had some time ago at a Houston hospital. Other guests in the home were Mr. and Mrs. Herb Taylor and Mrs. and Mrs.

J. W. McDoniel. We are glad to know Sammie Hickman is still improving since fiis stay in the Brady hospital. Mr.

and Mrs. Wilbert Wynn of Park were recent visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Taylor. Mr.

and Mrs. Wynn are employed to teach this year in the Iowa Park School system. Mrs. Wynn is the daughter of Valeta Goodloe Turner, formerly of Richland Sprs. They also visited relatives in San Saba.

Recent guests in the home of the Rev. and Mrs. Carl Gentry were the Rev. Pete Gentry and children of Kermit, the Rev. and Mrs.

A. C. Trowbridge, and family, and Mr. and Mrs. G.

W. Groff of San Angelo. The Groff family and Caroline Trowbridge have been on a three-week vacation in which they toured 14 states. Last Wednesday, Dorinda and Valeta Bates went on the bus to isit the Kenneth McGary family at Austin. Sunday their parents, and Mrs.

Eugene Bates, Jef- and Daniel spent the day with the and all returned lome in the afternoon. Mr Mrs. Merle Taylor, Merle Taylor Dean and Alan, spent three days last week touring the Big Bend National Park and other places of interest in West Texas. Hiram Season has moved into his new home he built on the John Coffcy lot in Mrs Cora Taylor. When using a dip net on fish put the net into the water am work the fish toward it.

A sudden movement of the net will cause the fish to take another plunge for freedom and that plunge may mean -the last you'l see of the fish. Bend Chappel News Aug. residents of this locality were on the alert Saturday when fire broke out on the Tisdale ranch and spread over the Raymond Barrier ranch. The road group with their equipment and all available men ami boys rushed to the fire to assist in putting out the fire and saving the Barrier home.

Some of the men remain on the scene and some returned Sunday morning when fire broke out again. Bennie and Kerry Lively were among those who fought fires until late Sunday night. Mr. and Mrs. Tollie Lemons and Mr.
