W. H. Blakeney Dies In California William Holly Blakeney, 86, MOITO Bay, former resident of Saba county, died Dec. 24, 19ffG, at the home of his son, John F. Blakeney of Avenal, where he was visiting for the holidays.

Blakeney was one of the early pioneers of San Saba county and lived in China Creek community for many years. His father, John W. Blakeney, settled in San Saba in 1875. Blakeney moved to Hanford in 1932 and later settled in Avenal where he practiced his carpentry trade, working on many large construction jobs through out the state of California until his retirement in 1966, at which time he moved to Morro Bay. His wife, the former Miss Sallie Nance of Burnet, preceded him in death in 1932, and his son, Charles Blakeney died in 1960.

Survivors include, in addition to his son, John two daughters, Mrs. Earl (Hazel) Sargent, Bakersfield, and Mrs. Richard Mollie McCarthy, Burnie, Tasmania, Australia; four grandchildren and one great-grandson. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec.

80, in the Hamilton Peers Funeral Service Chapel, Tulare, Calif. The Rev. Wallace Hastings, pastor of First Christian Church, Tulare, officiated. Private interment services were held in Tulare Cemetery. His goats placed first and second in the billy kid division, then took the top awards over the three divisions. Tisdale is holding the reserve champion rosette while his sister, Susie Tisdale, is holding his champion trophy, which was given by Gene Conner. CHAMPION BREEDING Sue McKinncrncy, Richland Springs 4-H Club member, showed the champion breeding gilt at the 36th annual San Saba County Livestock Show. The swine division of the show was judged on Friday afternoon, Jan. 20, by Bobby Sifford, VA teacher of Marble Falls.

The gilt won first place honors from a field on nine breeding gilts that placed. San Saba Rotary Club furnished the trophy. Results of Lamb Division Of County Livestock Show A total of 50 of approximately 160 lambs won placings in the division of the San Saiba County Livestock Show, with judging held for lamb division Saturday morning, Jan. 21. Ann Kuykendall showed the champion fine wool and Jerry Kidd, reserve champion.

Raena Wharton had the medium wool lamb; Jerry Kidd, the champion crossbred lamb and Tommy Brandenberger, reserve champion crossbred lamb. Fine wool lambs were classed in light weight and heavy weight lambs. Winners of the light weight class, listed according to placings, include Raena Wharton, Elaine Ware, Suzette Vann, Cindy Doyle, Steve Beakley, Danny Pierce, Monty Riggs, Raena Wharton, Debr-a Alston and Ronnie Jennings. In the fine wool heavy weight class, winners included Ann Kuykendall, Jerry Kidd, second and third; Brenda Bush, Darwin Lewis, Patsy Tripp, sixth and seventh; Elaine Ware, Ronnie Jennings and Bobby Eden. Those placing in the medium wool class include Raena Wharton, Jerry Kidd, Trudy Lively, Tommy Bmndenberger, Ann Kuykendall, Kerry Lively, sixth and seventh; Ann Kuykendall, Gerald Me Try a WANT AD for Kesulta.

Many of the lambs were sold at auction during the sale held immediately after the show Saturday afternoon. The others were shipped to Fort Worth. Mary Fry Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Bell Fry, 84, were held at 1:30 p. m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, in Howell- Doran Chapel, conducted by Harold Hunt, minister of Second and Wallace Street Church of Christ.

Burial was in Dobyville Cemetery, Burnet county, under the direction of Howell-Doran Funeral Home. Her grandsons served as pallbearers. Mrs. Fry died at 6:45 a. m.

Monday, Jan. 23, in Eventide Nursing Home where she had been a resident for six months. She was born Jan. 31, 1882, at Spicewood, the daughter of George L. Jackson and Frances Louise Faulkner Jackson.

She was married to Charles Thomas Fry Dec. 27. 1898, here in San Saba and had been a resident of the county for, 47 years. Her husband died in September 1926. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Fannie Hopson of Hamilton, Mrs. Marie Banta and Mrs. Lois Shaw of Hearne, Mrs. Juani- tu Eagsdale of Killeen and Mrs.

Doris Murray of Temple; three sons, E. A. Fry of Andrews, Jack Fry of San 'Saba and George Fry Of Killeen; one sister, Mrs. Jennie Webb of Lampasas; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Billy Kid Class: Olan Tisdale, first and second; Dean Taylor, Ronnie Jennings, fourth and fifth; Merle Taylor Jr. Connie Sue McKinnerney, Rich- Ian Springs 4-H member, showed the champion breeding gilt of the swine show and Ernie Clark had the reserve champion breeding gilt, placing first and second, respectively in the class. Other placings in order of rank were Sammy Plumley, Richard Menchaca, James Gage, Gary Reeves, Kendal Terry, James Gage and Mike Gray.

The barrows and gilts were in 'two classes, heavy and light weights. In the heavy weight division, placings include Charles Rankin, Mike Kendal Terry, Phil 'Letbetter, Mike Gage, Danny Turner, Steve Beakley, 'Dale McKinnerney and Charlotte Locker. Winners in the light weight barrow and gilt division include Richard Menchaca, Jackie Turner, Pete Sawyer, third and fourth; Ernie Clark, Phil Letbetter, Mike Beakley, Sammy Plumley and Mike Reeves. Richard Menchaca won the champion award and reserve champion went to Mike Gage in the barrow and gilt division. Mike Gage was judged the senior showman of the swine division and Steve Beakley, showman.
