Lee Consumption Cure is ail that it is claimed to bei The company 'takes this means of showing its confidence in its system of treatment and to prove to the public that the Nathan Lee Consumption Cure is a genuine specific for the cure of pulmonary consumption. The extraordinary cures stated to have been already effected by this company in the strong testimonials and endorsements published are of such a character that, if this test results in the cure of the three patients who may be selected, the system of treatment originated by the Nathan Lee Consumption Cure Company will take its place among the epochal discoveries in medical science. Full particulars regarding this test are given in the article on this page of The Sunday Courier. a proposition from the Nathan Lee Consumption Cure Company of this city to make a test of its system of treatment and invites anyone who is afflicted with this disease to apply at this office for directions how to obtain the treatment. Three patients will be selected, preferably from among- the poor, who cannot afford to pay for treatment.

Medical examinations and treatment will be absolutely free and will be conducted under strict test conditions until the cases treated are either pronounced cured by the Courier's physician and the City Health Department, or given up as incurable by the Nathan Lee Consumption Cure Company. This proposition is made by the Xathan Lee Company, as the result of inquiries from people who want to know whethethe Nathan ia -what the Nathan Lee system of treatment professes to accomplish. In offering this remedy to the public the Xathan Lee Consumption Cure Company has had to contend with the prejudice prevalent in the public mind that has grown up as the natural consequence Where having been numerous consumption cures exploited by quacks and adventurers who have soug-ht to prey upon the credulity of suffering humanity. Dr. Robert IX Gordon, writing on this subject in the Xew York Journal of Health of March 26, 1904,: says: "Those who have investigated the matter impartially are convinced that consumption is curable.

position was taken years ago by the New York Journal of Health, and our belief has grown stronger from year to. year. Our confidence in the statement; that consumption will yield to remedial methods is strengthened by our investigation of the results achieved by a pioneer In this special Held, the Nathan Lee Consumption Cure Company of Buffalo, N. whose record of cures is a long one and furnishes indisputable proof that this company possesses a specific cure for pulmonary consumption. "Our Investigation of the Nathan Lee system of treatment and the beneficial results that have followed its application was conducted in secrecy and at no time during the course of our examination was the subject of it aware that such examination was in progress.

Our enquiries were prosecuted not only among those who had been cured through the Xathan Lee Consumption Cure, but embrace cotir fidential expressions of opinions from persons of highest standing In the commercial and banking interests of Buffalo. Sufficient evidence is freely offered to show that in case after case where the efforts of physicians of the highest standing proved unavailing, the disease yielded to this efficacious' treatment, and enough time has elapsed to prove the permanency of these cures. It la, therefore, a matter of simple Justice to our readers who haw in their family a sufferer from this insidious disease to make known that a cure Is at hand. ENDORSES THE CURE. ''Any benefit that may accrue to this highly successful cure from the publication of this unprejudiced article is merely incidental, as the only interests that have been consulted are those of our readers, and this report is made exclusively for their benefit.

Summed Up we would say that after the most searching investigation we have no hesitation whatever in editorially Indorsing the Nathan Lee Consumption Cure as being thoroughly scientific and eminently resultful as a thorough, effective and permanent cure for pulmonary consumption. It has the unreserved editorial Indorsement of the Journal of The question is sometimes asked, why did the Nathan Lee Consumption Cure Company establish itself in Buffalo, instead of New York. Chicago or one of the larger cities of the country, where institutions of any kind requiring considerable capital are usually originated? This question is answered by the statement; that the Nathan Lee company commenced business in Buffalo because all of their experiments had been made here: their letters are from Buffalo people and this was the logical point to grow from. The stockholders of the company are Buffalo men, who would be unwilling to engage in any deception, and the strictest inquiry is solicited concerning the published statements of. and the men associated with this enterprise.

When all doubt of the reliability of the Nathan Lee Consumption Cure has been removed from the public mind; when the prejudice, which the failure of alleged! consumption cures has createdf is dlssTpated. it is contemplated establishing offices In more healthful climates, where consumptives are- concentrated. Most sufferers from tuberculosis are unwilling to adroit the fact, and many POSITIVELY WO FEE ARE TO BE CHARGED Nathan Lte Company Makes the Offtr to The Courier in Answer to Inquiries Regarding Value of. the Rem- proved to he the long for epeclfla In diseases or a tuoercuwus CURED EXTREME CASES. The cure which is now presented to the world by jlhe Nathan Lee Company has already stood the most rtgoroixs tests that couldbe devised and in every Instance has more than met the expectations of experimenters who wre looking for failure, hut had success forced upon them. a No one could have been more solicit-ious of assuring themselves absolutely of the merits of this remedy, than ths men ho have -spent their' money and given their good names a sponsors for it. Here is an opportunity for those af- flicted with consumption to be cured tree. The Xath.ni Ix-e Consumption Cure Company has sent to The Courier office the following letter, proposing that The Courier shall make a thorough test of Its treatment for consumption. The has accepted the proposition and the details of the arrangements made are given below: "Buffalo. X.

March '2'2, 1904. ''To the Kditor of The Courier: "Dear Sir Your letter of the 19th inst. is at hand. We are pleased to know that Lyou are receiving personal inquiry as to the genuineness of our specific for consumption, and believe that we can satisfy you that you can safely commend the Xathan Lee Consumption Cure Company as being what It advertises itself to be. We send you for inspection, under separate cover, testimonials, some of which have aud many have not been pub-li5hed.

Among the latter we call your special attention to those rwhich show investigation by the Health Department, and partic- Ularly to that of Mrs. in con- nection with which we desire to say that we had no expectation of effect in a. cure in 'her case, and frankly so stated to friends of the Jady, to whom we also stated that while we could not cure, we could make her more comfortable. You can see for yourself the result. The germs are already practicaly gone and the patient on the way to complete recovery.

'We know that if we cure consumption, we confer a lasting benefit upon mankind and that some way ought to be devised to insure public confidence. Everyone should be interested in bringing- about this result, and we therefore to that end. as wll ae to personally satisfy you, make the following request of The Courier. TREAT AXD CURE, FREE. "We will treat and cure, free of charge, three patients to be selected toy The Courier in any way it desires, who have tuberculosis.

Each patient must be examined by a physician to be selected by you and the sputum must be examined by the I ibiCteriologist of the Health De-' partment of the city of Buffalo, or any other city you may select, and another bacteriologist suggested by you and accepted by us. We shall then begin the treatment of the patients. An examination of spvitum shall be made by the same bacteriologists from time to time, as we may desire, and the result published in your paper, whether it be favorable or unfavorable. until the patients are cured, or you are satisfied that they cannot be. cured by our treatment.

If they are cured, we know you will be glad to let the public know the fact that our treatment is a success. "We desire to place but one condition upon this offer and that is, the patients treated must be examined by our own physician and pronounced by him to be curable. This condition we desire because we do not wish to take patients who are past all hope and are just ready to die. The gentlemen connected with our company cannot afford to continue to associate themselves with us unless we have a specific for consumption, nor will they do so, and we desire this test made for them as well as for the public. "Should the test be successful, as we believe it will, we shall then inform any reputable physician making inquiry of us what our treatment and medicine Is.

"Tf you accept our proposition are willing to arrange detail in (any way to suit you. "Very truly yours, 'Signed.) 1 "THE XATHAN LEE CONSUMPTION CURE COMPANY." This letter came in answer to a note of enquiry from The Courier office. In which the Nathan Lee Consumption Cure Company was asked to furnish nob infnmwtinn as would enable The Courier to supply the information asked for by the writer of the letter printed elOW- THE ENQUIRY. Buffalo. N.

March 19th. Editor the Courier: Dear Sir I noticed in Wednesday's Courier the advertisement of the Nathan Lee Consumption Cure Company. In a matter of such importance which may mean life or death to the afflicted, an apology is scaroely for writing to you for any information you may be able to give. A relative who is suffering with consumption and who has almost Kiven up" hope of being cured is anxious to learn whether confidence may he placed in the advertised cures. I write to you in her behalf for any private information you may be able to give us regarding the efficacy of this consumption cure and the responsibility of the men who are conducting it.

Advertised testimonials are not always to be relted upon, and we cannot afford to be deceived or have false hopes excited in the mind of one who is already nearly resigned to the ln- evitable. Trusting that you will be able to give os some assurance that the Nathan Lee Consumption Cure 5 GGOIIUR C. Anyone desirinjr to learn these particulars, or to see the certificate of the Health Department, bearing on the cases alluded to in the letter from, the Nathan Lee Consumption Company, can do so by calling at The Courier office. TO MAKE THOHOKiH TEST. In accordance with the proposition made by the Xathan Ie Consumption Cure Company in the foreeoinc letter. The Courier hncs decided to make a thorough test which will definitely prove the success or failure' of this treatment. It is proposed to find three persons afflicted with consumption, who are willing-.

to be treated frff by the ilhnu Lee Consumption Cure Company. These three patients will be s-leei--d from applicants in answer to- this notice, pre ferably from among the poor, who can not afford to pay for treatment. They will be examined by a reliable physician to be selected by The Courier, and who is not in any way interested in the Xathan Lee Consumption Cure Company, and by the bacteriologist of the city Health Department, and another bacteriologist, who will be suggested by The Courier, and be acceptable to the Xathan Lee Consumption Cure Company. When it has been established to the satisfaction of both The Courier and the Xathan Lee Con-Sumption Cure Company that these three patients are afflicted with the R-enuine tuberculosis, treatment will be commenced. Every stage in the process will be carefully watched by the physician, and the bacteriologists, whose reports will be published in The Courier at frequent intervals until the patients have either been cured or given up as incurable by the Xathan Lee" Consumption Cure Company.

The advertisement? of this company, in which they claim to be making absolute, positive and guaranteed cures of consumption and asthma, have attracted a widespread attention, and brought many inquiries to The Courier office regarding this institution, and the published testimonials of remarkable cures. It is believed that an investigation such as The Courier has, now begun, will result in settling all doubts, and that such a test as this should be made both in the interest of suffering hu manity and for the enlightenment or the public. Anyone interested In. or or taking advantage of this offer of free treatment for consumption is invited to write or call at The Courier office. SIPI'ORTS ITS ASSERTIOXS.

In face of the fact that the majority of physicians and most of the general public still believe that consumption is incurable, the Nathan Lee Consump tion Cure Company of this City, with offices at No. 240 Delaware Avenue, guarantees the cure of this dread disease and supports its assertions with the endorsements of reputable physi cians, some of the leading medical jour nals, and a large number of testimonials of the most trustworthy character. A thorough investigation of the Nathan Lee system: of treatment, conducted recently by the New York Journal of Health, resulted in a most favorable verdict, and concluded with the statement: "Sufficient evidence is freely offered to show that in case after case, where the efforts of physicians of the highest standing proved unavailing, the disease yielded to the efficacious treatment of the Nathan Lee Consumption Cure Company and enough time has elapsed to prove the permanency of these cures." The Nathan Lee Consumption Cure Company is the offspring of what was formerly known as 1 the "Poose Consumption and Asthma of which Mr. George C. Foose of Buffalo wa.i the proprietor.

The remarkable cures effected by his system of treatment attracted the attention of men who realised that Mr. Foose was in possession of a secret that would eventually startle the medical world, and revolutionize prevalent ideas concerning the treatment of consumption and asthma. A company was formed, of which Mr. Foose is president, and systematic work begun at onoe to bring this method of treatment to the present state of perfection. As already stated, the Nathan Lee i a it i 1 cough will be better again.

My appetite keeps good. I sometimes get rather blue, but I ought not to as long as I am so much better. I do hope the medicine will entirely cure me." WAS GROWING I1ETTER- On April 13th she wrote: "I am better, I can stand a good deal more work than I could a few eeks ago, and I do not cough anything compared to what I did. They all think your medicine has done wonders for me." On June 15th I received a letter from her saying: "I am quite busy nowadays. I have most of the housework to do.

I do think if it had not been for the medicine you had sent me I would be under the sod, and others think so, too. You want me to tell you how I was when I began taking your medicine. I was about as bad as I could be and I was growing weaker all the time and losing flesh and had no appetite and coughed myself almost to death. I got so I could hardly walk Across the room. Our neigh--bars thought I could not live long (so they tell me since I am better), and Frances last fall she told her folks she thought I would not live to see the spring, and I had a great deal of pain in my lungs and side, but they were all surprised to see how I began to gain when I began taking your medicine, and I gained right along.

My appetite came and I gained in flesh and strength, and I didn't cough nothing like so hard, although I do cough yet. I had the pain in my lungs and side since early last; winter. I tell them I am quite a woman yet." On November 17. she wrote: "You say your friend wanted you to write a statement in regard to what hts medicine has done for me. It has done everything for me.

I do not know what to say more than I have written you, only, if it had not been for that I do think I should not be here now. My friends and neighbors thought before I began taking it I would never be around again, but I am here yet." I received a Rreat many more letters and statements of the same purport as these quoted, and my sister now considers herself well, cured by your medicine. I make this statement freely, because I believe the world should know you can cure consumption. Yours very truly. JAMES W.

SMITH. DI TO BACILLI. Consumption as It attacks the lungs, is diagnosed as being essentially a chronic or interstitial pneumonia, resulting from the deposit of tuberculous matter here and there in the substame of the lungs, whic'h undergoes all of the various stages of inciting inflammation and supperation, finally breaking down as pus and debris, which is ejected by i expectoration until the lunps have been destroyed to an extent rendering them incapable of performing their natural function of purifying the blood. It is now an accepted fact in medicine that the growth of these tuberculous masses Is due to the development of the bacilli tuberculosis or consumption germ which multiplies rapidly when the conditions are favorable to the growth of the bacilli. The aim of the medical profession has always been to enable the patient to eliminate the morbid element from 'his system and resist the tendency to new deposits of tubercle.

In support of 'this statement vtnd of the fact that up to the time that the Nathan Lee system of treatment -was Introduced no cure for tuberculosis was known to the medical profession we have the authority of Dr. Clarence A. Boyce, editor of the Southern Clinic and the American Doctor and member of the American Medical Press Association Who says In his "Pocket "We have been able to find no specific treatment for this trouble. (Consumption.) We know of no other approved treatment of consumption, and the rational treatment of this from beginning" to end, consists in building up the system with an abundance of material for restoring the drain made upon it by maturation and the breaking down of tubercular masses. Despite all that may have been said or written up to the- present day regarding mlcroblc origin of consumption, nothing has been accomplished by the application of any remedy based upon such a i theory." This was iwritten before the Nathan Lee Consumption Cure was discovered, or at least before It was made known to the medical profession.

Since then the Nathan Lee care has been tested and system of treatment' has been subjected to the most rigorous: tests, and in no instance has it failed to effect a cure, its otficers claim. The officers of the Nathan Lee Con-suniptinn Cure Company are substantial men, well known in Buffalo, whose names should surneie to vouch for the responsibility of any institution they are associated withi' They are: 'tleoTKe C. Koose, 'president and general manager; Krajik J. Koose. viee-prc-sideiu 1'iirton Swift, secretary and treasurer; Judge Harlan J.

for two years. In a conversation; yesterday with Dr. Ulat kman, relative to his connection with the Xathan Lee Company, he said: I have, in conjunction with Mr. George Poose, been testing this remedy for two years. It is a vegetable compound which acts as an anti-toxin.

Its apparent success in f' numerous difficult cases' induced me ito glva the remedy iu fair trial, and the remarkable results of our investigations and of the treatment in soiiiq- of the apparently hopeless cases, led to the determination to invite The Courier to make public test which-' shall determine absolutely the merits of this consumption cuie. If this test proves successful, ag undoubtedly will the medical profession shall receive the benefit of it." After the Xathan L-ee Consumption Cure had been brought to a state of perfection, offices were established at the northwest corner of Chippewa Street und Delaware Avenue and the public invited to vtest the cure. To satisfy all that the cures effected were grenuine ifi every respect these patients were treated under the supervision of physicians of this city, and to insure impartiality, -examinations were made from time to tirnei by rhe Department of Health. Many of the reports of these examinations, together with letters from the patients who were naturally skeptical when they began the treatment, have been published. They speak louder than words and need no commentary beyond the fact that a.

representative of The 'Courier has talked with several of these people, who have been literally snatched from the grave by the Xathan Lee Consumption Cure. It Is explicitly stated by the officials. of the company that as soon as the unprofessional men connected with it, and who have furnished the money for conducting' experiments and demonstrating the Success of the Nathan Lee treatment have been reimbursed, the cut will be given- the world. The terms upon which its treatment is offered to the public: are stated in the following language: "Payment for treatment is made contingent upon recovery. We guarantee a cure except in the most aggravated cases In which we shall confine ourselves to Insuring relief, although Wfi have permanently cured several of these cases." In this way the itien who have undertaken to demonstrate, to the public their belief that la specific has been found for the ciire of consumption, asthma and bronchial troubles, invite confidence of the skeptical by assuming all the risk and responsibility.

Preliminary examinations of patients, to determine the existence of tuberculosis, are made free, either by their own physician, or another under his direction. CONSUMPTION NOT INCURABLE. In the treatment of consumption patients, the notion that tuberculosis is Incurable has so rooted In the average practitioner's mind, that it is usual to direct their efforts toward mitigating the sufferings of the patient. Even when remedial measures are resorted It appears that the Idea is to alleviate without expecting to cure. Among the more advanced students, however, It is nQW conceded that by the use of proper medical agencies, the consumption gerrrt (bacilli tuberculosis) may be destroyed and Us ravages stopped at almost any stage of the disease, so long as the vital, functions bave not been interfered -wltb.

This patients, after the existence of consumption has been determined, hesitate with a natural feeling of delicacy, to have the truth published to the world. Tire following are a few of the names and addresses of people who are willing and in a position to testify to remarkable cures of which they have personal knowledge: ASK. THESE PEOPLE. William T. It would be to conceive of a greater boon to afflicted mankind than a cure for consumption, the most fruitful cause of death and the most insidious disease that the medical world has to deal with in this climate.

Perhaps no better testimony could be produced to show the gradual, but sure, effects of the Nathan Lee treatment than is contained in the following letter. This is a complete record of the case of a woman who was at the verge of the grave when treatment began, and the letter tells in detail how month after month she gained strength and the morbid symptoms disappeared until, within a year's time, she declares herself to have gained both health and strength: SAYS SUE REGAINED HEALTH.
