Burial Christian Memorial Cemetery, DOROTHY SHEIL Age 92, formerly of Royal Oak, died Thursday evening, January 12, 2006. Mrs. Doty grew up during the depression the oldest of four children. Many will remember when lights and indoor plumbing were a luxury, and Mrs.

Doty was thrilled to live in a home with those amenities. She graduated from Pierce School of Business in Pennsylvania. Her family recalls stories of long walks and dinner along the seashore near Atlantic City with her husband Franklin. They also remember how very special the Christmas season was at the Doty household and the summer vacations at Lake May. Mrs.

Doty made the vacation trips to Lake May enjoyable and special times for her family even though she still cooked and cleaned. She was a member of the Starr Presbyterian Church in Royal Oak, a member of the Dorcas Circle, and the church librarian for many years. She also played the piano for the Sunday school. Her children where taught good values by their mother, and Mrs. Doty took great pride in the fact that her children have stayed married to their original spouses.

Mrs. Doty was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin who she lovingly cared for during his courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her children, Stephen and Marjorie Doty of Houghton, NY, Thomas and Linda Doty of Mackinaw City, MI and Harriet and Dexter Schassberger of Waukesha, WI; her very special grandchildren, Sara Doty, Luke Doty, Leah Doty, Amanda and Kevin McGrail, Chad Doty, Anne and Matthew Schnaare and Katie and Joe Dennert; her sister. Mrs. Virginia Hay of Harrisburg, PA and Mrs.

She was born Dec. 3, 1930 in Mount Clemens, Michigan. Mrs. Dunlap married George Dunlap on April 22, 1950, in St. Louis Catholic Church, Clinton Township, Michigan and the couple resided at their present address since 1952.

She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Mount Clemens and enjoyed playing cards and solving puzzles. Her family was most important to her and she was known for her generosity and unselfish nature. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, George; children Michael (Laraine) Dunlap of California, Roxann Toth of Tennessee, Patrick (Jackie) Dunlap of Oklahoma and Christopher (Liela) of St. Clair Shores, Michigan; sister Mildred Butts of Clinton Township; brother Jim (Joanne) Krause of Harrison Township; nine grandchildren; and two She was predeceased by her sisters, Kay LaRue and Rosemary Krause; and parents Walter and Lila (nee Merressman) Krause.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Peter Catholic Church, 95 Market Mount Clemens, with the Rev. T.J. Maloney officiating.

Obituary at EBERLINE RICHARD F. "DICK" Age 99 of Rochester Hills, January 19, 2006. A graduate of the Dartmouth College School of Engineering, he retired as vicepresident of the Syncro Corporation. He was a fine fly fisherman and a good shot. He sailed the Great Lakes, played golf and was a long time Lions fan.

He was also a member of the Pere Marquette Rod and Gun Club and the Society of Automotive Engineers. He's preceded in death by his wife Mary and his sister Dorothy Hope. He is survived by his children Richard Eberline, Mary Eberline and John Eberline; and by grandchildren, Barkley Eberline and Tiffany Beach and great-granddaughter Sawyer Beach. Hero, Sr. and Effel A. Pearson. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, class of 1945. From 1945 to 1948 he served in the 309th Infantry Regiment (78th Infantry Division) and the Office of Military Government (OMGUS) in Germany as part of the U.S.

Occupation following World War II. In 1950, he was assigned to the Human Research Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Personnel, U.S. Department of the Army in the Pentagon. From 1948-1950 Alfred attended Vanderbilt University where he obtained master's degrees in both psychology and political science. He resigned from the Army in 1953 to complete his Ph.D in International Relations at George Washington University and went on to become editor of the quarterly "International Organization" and Executive Secretary of the World Peace Foundation located in Boston, Massachuettes.

During his affiliation with this foundation, Alfred continued his research on U.S. Foreign Policy in general while focusing on U.S. relations with Western Europe and Canada. He retired in 1982 to become a visiting scholar at the Harvard University Center for International Affairs and subsequently a visiting professor of relations and U.S. Foreign Policy at the University of Toronto, Canada.

He was a. frequent contributor of scholarly articles to the Journal of Foreign Affairs and authored several books on the southerner and world affairs and on U.S./Canadian relations. He is survived by his ex-wife, Barbara F. Hero of Wells, Maine; his four children, Alfred O. Hero III of Ann Arbor, MI; Barbara Hero Macomber of Castine, ME; Michelle Hero Clark of Yarmouth, Maine; and David Evans Hero of Boston, MA.
