Smith, 56, 5175 Homiltbn-lilclimond Oxford, died Wednesday morning at liis home. He was born in Oxford Township, son of John W. and Nettie Beckett Smith and graduated from Darrtown High School. A well-known farmer in the Darrtown area, Mr. Smith drove a school bus in the Talawanda School District 13 years.

He was a member of the a i Church, the Knights of Pythias of Darrtown and the Milford Township Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Smith was a former member of the Moose and Eagle lodges in Hamilton. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Helen Smith; two daughters, Mrs.

Pat Lipscomb, Fail-field, and Mrs. Pam Hampton, Oxford; a son, Michael E. O'Leary, at home; and a brother, Wilbur Smith, Sun City, Ariz. Service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Marshall- Smith Funeral Home, Oxford.

Burial will be in a Visitation is today from 7-9 p.m. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers those who desire make contributions in Mr. Smith's memory to the Darrtown Fire Department or the Oxford Life Squad. J. Fred Engel J.

Fred Engel, 75, 2051 Timberman Road, died at p.m. Thursday at the Logsdon Nursing Home. Born in Ross Township, he was the son of Charles and Wilhelmina Schmitt Engel. He was a farmer throughout his life and drove a Ross Township school bus for 33 years. He attended the Zion Lutheran Church and was a member of the Butler County Farm Bureau.

He leaves a sister, Marie; four brothers, Carl E. Engel J. Adolph, and Ralph all of Hamilton, and Dr. Walter Cincinnati, and several nieces and nephews. His parents and a brother Arthur preceded him in death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Proeschel- Crawford Funeral Home, 547 Main with burial in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitations will be 6-9 p.m. Monday. Friends may contribute to the Rev.

Karl A. Miller Scholarship Fund of the Zion Lutheran Church. Mrs. Kennedy Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Proeschel-Crawford Funeral Home, 547 Main for Mrs.

Elizabeth Haley Kennedy, 64, 661 Southwest Both Plantation, Fla. She was dead on arrival at Plantation General Hospital Wednesday evening. Born in Hamilton, she was the daughter of John M. and Minnie Dodsworth Haley. She married Charles H.

Kennedy in 1930. He died in 1962. She leaves two sons, Robert Plantation, Irvin La Belle, a daughter, Mrs. Dan C. (Na Deen) Hartleb; two sisters, Miss Na Deen Haley, Chicago, Mrs.

Marguerite Willis, Ross, and four grandchildren. Interment will be at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitations are 6-9 p.m. Sunday. Mrs.

Ziliox Mrs. Joanna M. Ziliox, 84, died at p.m. Wednesday lit Hoyal Palms Convalescent Homo, Vcron Bench, Fla. She resided in Hamilton until 1947, and lived in Sebastian, since then.

Horn in Brookville, she married Clifford T. Ziliox in 1908. He died in 1948. She leaves a son, Thomas Fairfield; a sister Mrs. Oaro (Freda) Hughes, Richmond, six grandchildren and four great- grand-children.

Four sons and a daughter preceded her in death. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Cox, Gilford and Baldwin Funeral Home, Vero Beach, Fla, with burial in Hillside Memorial Garden, Vero Beach, Fla. Robert Carmack Robert Carmack, 50, 4050 Eaton Road, was dead -on arrival at p.m. Thursday at Mercy Hospital.

Son of Oscar and Rosa Shepherd Carmack, he was born and educated in Hamilton. An Army veteran of World War II, he married Marjorie Ponder in 1944 in South Carolina. He retired from Fisher Body in 1970 and had been farming since then. Survivors include his wife; father, Orlando, three sons, Jeffrey Roberts, Gregory Carmack and Steven Carmack, all at home; a brother, Roy, Orlando, a and two sisters, Mrs. Opal Euwing, Middletown, and Mrs.

Mae Adkins, Hamilton. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Pentecostal Highway of Holiness Church, Hamilton-Middletown Road, with burial in Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Sunday at the Brown- Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing and 1-2 p.m. Monday at the church.

Perry Phipps Perry G. Phipps, 82, 1337 Sunset Drive, died at 4:15 p.m. Thursday at the Sunny Breeze Convalescent Home. Born in Fairfield, he was the son of Aaron and Ella Meeker Phipps. He attended Hamilton schools and married Julia Feyh in 1915.

He retired from Beckett Paper Co. in 1953 after 48 years of work. 'He. leaves his wife, a nephew, a niece, two great nei.ces and two great nephews. Services will be 10 a.m, Monday at the Webb Funeral Home, 240 Ross, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitors may call at the funeral home 4-8 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Chartier Mrs. Alberta Chartier, 71, died Thursday morning in the Manor Pines Nursing Home, Fort Lauderdalc, Fla.

She was born in Hamilton, daughter of Clifford and Dorothy Brock Hathorn and was graduated from Miami University in 1924. She leaves a son, William Scofield, Guam, and three nieces. Graveside service will be Monday at 2 p.m. in Cemetery. There will he no visitation.
