SCHOOL BOARD PROCEEDINGS 1965 May 17, Roll Call: A regular meeting of the Board of mcnt replacement request for this year at a future meeting. Sleight PTA A request from the Sleight PTA was received at the last meeting of the Board and tabled until this meeting for action. The organization had asked the Board for a $75.00 donation to match a similar amount by their organization for the purchase of physical fitness gymnasium equipment. It was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that the Board of Education donate S75.00 towards the purchase of gymnasium equipment. School Board Association Meeting It was announced that a School Board Association dinner meeting will be held at Weber's Resort on May 25. Mr. George Schult of the Department of Public Instruction will be present to discuss the consolidation issue of Gogebic and Ontonagon County Intermediate School Districts which will come before the voters at the June 14 election. Recommendations from the Instructors were presented. It was also recommended that a new mimeograph machine be purchased for Room 313. It was decided by the Board to table this matter until a future meeting. Extra Bus Transportation Mr. Dear informed the Board that he had met with a committee from the Norrie P.T.A. in regard to a request to have the seventh and eighth grade girls transported by bus to the high school for their homemaking classes next year. He reported that the situation will 1 be studied and a report will be presented after the class schedules and other factors have been reviewed. School Election Board It was agreed by the Board that the election board officials be paid SI.00 per hour tor the hours worked after the regular 15 hours at the May 10 school election. Purchase of textbooks will be postponed until information is received from the N.D.E.A. to see if these books can be purchased on a matching basis.
