M. 6 21 P. Elliottsburg, passed through here in search of a horse that had been stolen from him on Friday night. Later in the day Mr. Oliver Rice and son passed through, also hunting a valuable mare that had been stolen on the same night.

The searching parties passed on over the mountain hunting for their horses, which were all day on Saturday concealed in the bushes by the roadside on the mountain. Oa Saturday night Mr. luce's mare tore loose and got away from them. She was met coming down the mountain by a man who was going over on horseback and one of the thieves was after him but took to the bushes on seeing this man approach. The Kitner horse, not being up to the standard that those gentlemen deal in, they turned him loose.

On Sunday the two horses were found at neighboring farm houses. Not beini; successful in their Friday night's stealings the thieves came down 10 23 P. M. trains will run as follows NEWPORT STATION. EASTWARD.
