Old Glory. The following original poem was read by Rev. Clarence Burkholder, at Washington birthday exercises; ut Waukegan, 111., on February 22, 1897: I. Old Glory is waving in splendor tonight. O'er this land of the free bathed in God's holy light.

Her bars and her stars and her red white and blue. Are telling the tale of the brave and the true, Writ large on their star-spangled banner we Of many a hero and neroio deed. She bath her Thermopylaes hall, shot and shell She bath stood without flinching, she knoweth "low well Her red stripes are calvary stripes that she bore, Her white is the freedom for whicb she'd bear more, Her stale are the heaven-lit lamp! of the land. Tin Pleiades (croup for their influence grand. Oil Giory! Old Glory! there's ho flag like thee, Three cheers for the flag of the brave and the free.

II. The band groweth small of the old boys in blue Who marched 'neath this banner so loyal and true. One morning they loft their loved homes In the North And down to the battle for freedom went forth With a sweetheart's last kiss an 1 a mother's good-bye. With a lump in the throat and a tear in the eye They marched to the south to the scene of the war. BUSINESS CARDS.
