The committees will still continue their work until Thursday night when another meeting will be held at City Hall JUDGE and Corone Bucki-iw have herciofoje been great friends and cronies, but alas, the spell is broken. Both are candidates for the nomination of Justice of the Peace on the Democritic ticket this spring. Both yearn to attach the handle "Squire" to their names in addition to the already euphonious handles they both possess. Two hearts can't beat as one, and both aspire to the same office, aud therefore the Judge frowns on the Coroner and the Coroner makes faces at the Judge. Alas, alas such is fate; and there's discord in the Mossback Camp.

THE funeral ol Mr. George Cassingham took place Sunday afternoon under the auspices of the I. F. It was one of the largest funerals held here for a long time. Brethren from the Dresden, Newcomerstown and Cambridge lodges were in attendance.

The funeral services at the residence were held by Rev. Hunt, those at the grave by Rev. Wilson as Chaplain of the I. O. O.

New ileas are sought out aud put into effect constantly, and no house in America can show the variety and novelty can be shown by the salesmen of "The Tuscarora." Coshocton can well be proud of such an enterprise, growing up in her borders, bringing mopey into her territory, and circulating it among her people.

No solicitation was made except by mail, and the di reel personal (ftorts of the proprietor Ctishocton and in towns of the immediate vicinity. No labor but that of the proprietor and one assistant was employed, and the puny little msiness was laughed at by the older Novelty Houses, of the country, who joked with each other about the extensive competition the new one horse factory in Coshocton was giving them, lo day all this is changed.

In place of the feeble little engine, one of the best engines manufactured by the Erie City Iron Works of Eiie Cuy Penn. furnishes the motive power to nineteen machines, three new ones having been added wilhm the past twenty dajs. Aside from the engine and boiler there are nineteen machines in operation daily including a com- phte stereotyping outfit, and a new machine built after plans furnished by "The Tuscsrora" for the manufacture of yard slicks and which has a capacity of 15000 yard sticks per day. Instead of one assistant in the printing department there are in the printing manufacturing and packing departments between thirty and forty people busy, all of them, 10 hours 'per day, and in the printing department 12 hours per day. Instead of solicitation by mail, five active hus hug trawling men cover the territory rom the Rockies to the Allegheaus At th; head of this coterie of Commercial Tourists is Mr.

W. T. Knight, )f Coshocton who cast his fortune with "The Tuscarora" early in 1887, nd to whose energetic and hustling work much of the success ot the cou- ern is due. Mr. Knight is an active oung traveler and very popular with he patrons of his house.

Instead of the jeers of the other Novelty Houses of the country raveling men from those houses are eeking employment with "The Tusca- ora," Mr. G. S. Holland of alls N. who has been 'ravelling with one of the most extensive of the astern Novelty Houses for fourteen has severed connection wi that establishment and is seeking new otlds to conquer for "The Tusca- ora," lie is one of the most popular, he most talkative, the ra)st genial, and the best known traveling men in Ohio to-day.

Mr. T. G. White of Minneapolis, who his dentifted with a great Chicago Novelty House for the past several years at work for "The Tuscarora." He is to the great West what the other two men are to the South and East weii known and popular among the business men of that energetic and lustling portion of our great com. mouwealth.

In three able and two other newer acd less known travelers have entered the service on trial. It may now be asked, in what Joes the business of the establishment consist? In the first place the chief Specialty of "The Tuscarora" is the school hag. It is made of the best quality of burlap, imported from the celebrated bin lap miils of Dundee Scotland for the special use of "The Tuscarora." It is made by one of the finest sewing machine plants in the country, the machines propelled by steam and running to full ca pacity 10 hours per day. Over a half million of bags have been mamnactured by "The Twcwont" during the part tractive. machines, the meiry click of thef A Mullet is dangerously sick with cresses, and the hum of industry is leard the whole day through and far the night.

A few more such establishments and Coshocton will take her place as she ought to, among he busy, growing Ohfo. thriving cities of THE fo'Jowing special from Sunday's 'onimerciat Gazette may lead to the capture of a Coshocton county murderer. It is possible that the Siunders mentioned is the murderer of Dicker son at Coal Port mines. It is known hat he formerly lived in the Virginias and that he killed a man some where here. An eflF rt will be made to race the matter down to see whether is the Sauuders wanted here: For bout one year a gang of illicit iquor dealers have been pi) ing their rade in Wyoming and McDoweli counties without either United States or States license.

It became so ntfari- ous that hundreds were engaged in he illicit traffic. The good cit-jcns of these counties, havirg experienced he evil, concluded about four months ago to employ detectives to ferret ou and bring to justice these puties. But heir first attempt was a failure. Laier ou they employed W. G.

ialdwin, a Eureka detective of this city, who about six weeks ago appear ed in that section of ihe ate and be- work as a newspaper reporter in order to learn the lay of the country, le soon got his beariug-, and iu a hort time had secured evidence i ciently strong to arrest thirty odd hese "moonshiners." Not having lowever, arrested all of them, he con- inued 10 get evidence, and on Thurs-; day last he went to Flipping Creek to arrest a negro named Charles Saun- lers, physically a poweiful man, and when consented with a warrant the negro refused to surrender and en- leavored to pull a pistol, which was irevented by Baldwin shooting him wice in the right arm. Th did not top the desperado who advanced on he detective, and was in the act milling him and would have done so had not Baldwin shot him in the head; et this did not stop the negro, who lad in the meantime closed in on the who only saved his life by cnocking the fellow down nine times whh a pocket billy, after which, by he aid of others, he was handcuffed and aken to Mercer county jail. The letective received serious injuries, but not of a fatal natuie. There has all told, forty of the gang of moon hiners arrested and lodged in jail. There are fully as many more yet to arrested, and Baldwin with his officers are in hot pursuit.

Information eceived here this evening is that the detective and his aids are in close quarters, and unle he receives as istance from the county officials of hat section he will be compelled to eave. That section of the country his notorious for i's lawlessness in moonshining for two years, notwithstanding the Government has done all its power possible to break up this Ilicit business. It is now quite certain hat since the of that section of the ate have taken this matter nto hand, the evil-doers will have lo go. A IARGE barn on the farm of Hon. fas.
