Long, uneventful days beneath the hot sun on a grassy hillside. Long, lonely nights, still and shadowy as the moon rode slowly among the clouds. All the monotony of a million lives today. But into the dull routine of a shepherd's life came the vision that has captivated the imagination of man for two thousand years. An angelic voice saying, "Fear not..." A heavenly host singing, "Glory to God...and peace. The startling proclamation of the Saviour's birth! The message still comes with brightness and joy to all whose lot it is to labor, to endure, to wait.
