The proposal would consist of a 20-year assessment of the existing town buildings with details on what is needed and an analysis of possible new facilities. About $30,000 was budgeted in 2008 for a potential study and rates for assessments have come in around $27,000, said Sarah Burdette, town administrator. The idea was, she said, that through a professional service the recommendations will be on a more level playing field any recommendations will not have any perceived staff motivations. Burdette said there are issues with spacing for the staff now and if any staff expansion were to take place, there would simply be no room.

Supervisor Tim Beno said with a pricetag of $27,000, he's just "not feeling it." Beno said the concept is fine, but he doesn't think it's a need the town should look at now. Jeff Van Straten, town chairman, instructed staff to put together a meeting to go over facility issues at this point and allocate the money from there.
