Excellent Fishing Is Being Enjoyed Here PageThr^e BY BOB ROGERS Fishing has been good on all fronts recently. Fine weather and excellent water conditions made it a pleasant way to spend a da,y. The water temperature of the gulf is in the 80s now and the seas are mostly calm. St. Andrew's State Park is providing a good variety of fishing. Drew Stewart of Tyndall AFB was on the longpier, catching Bonita to use as. FINE CATCH-Doyal: Jones of Albertville, Ala., and John Gunter of the same town exhibit the fish they caught on the Star Queen at St. Andrew's Marina. CAP Session On at Beach More and more conventions, sales sessions, reunions and other gatherings are being scheduled at Panama City's beaches. The Civil Air Patrol has a session slated here this weekend. A seminar on crime with such dignitaries as Florida Attorney General Robert Shevin was conducted here this week. Clubs, associations, business houses and sororities like to schedule their gatherings at Panama City's beaches. There is always something to do, whether it be swimming, golfing, sailing, sunning on the beach or enjoying the strip's exciting night life. shark bait... He fishes at night off of the base and! said very few nights go by that he doesn't hook a large shark of some kind. However, hooking and fighting a large bonita on a spinning rod as he was doing at the pier would seem to be as much action as most people would want. People coming in at the launching ramp at the park were doing well also. Lee, Kieth and Pies Rodawalt who trailered their boat down from Enterprise, Ala., had a good string of speckled trout that were caught on the flats around the bay. Seven members of the Shelmett family of Franklin, Ga., were out on the Duchess with Capt. • Roy Hardy from Treasure Island docks and made a fine catch of snapper, grouper, amberjack and a ling. Jim Anderson of Canton, Ga., had three large grouper on the Red Fin No. 4 with Capt. Allen Griffin. William Hollaway and Aron Strickland vacationing here from Hartford, Ala., also had a good catch of snapper and grouper on the same boat. Employees of the Albany Tractor Co. of Albany, Ga. .chartered the Deepwater for a day and all forty of them had nice catches of red snapper, grouper and amberjack. Shirley and Clay Roney and Buddy and Mat Fletcher from Atlanta, Gga., made a good catch of kings, dolphin and bonita on the Wrangler with Capt. Larry LaNeve. Robert and Sally Lisenby and Dan and Sylvia Rayfield of Oneonta, Ala., had several nice kings and dolphin on the Sportsman with Capt. Bill Jenkins. Capt. John Mullin and his wife Barbera who are on TDY here from Anchorage, Alaska, were out on the Little David with Capt. Leroy Parrish and had a very good catch of kings and dolphin. Felton, Bob, and Dee Whitaker of Atlanta, Ga., also had good luck on the same boat.
