PAGE 4A LEADER -TELEGRAM WEDNESDAY, JULY 16, 1986 Obituaries Ifflce Report Ernest Klatt MENOMONIE Ernest C. Klatt. 83, died Tuesday at Potter's Country Home, rural Menomonie. He was bom and raised in the town of Dunn. Dunn County, where he farmed for 65 years.

He married Laura Peterson July 8. 1925. in the town of Spring Brook. Dunn County. In 1967, they moved to Menomonie, where he was a carpenter until retiring in 1978.

Survivors include two sons. James. Menomonie. John, rural' Menomonie; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m.

Friday at Olson Funeral Home. Menomonie, with burial in Forest Center Cemetery, town of Spring Brook. Friends may call from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday and until services Friday at the funeral home. Cora Anderson Cora Anderson, 91, formerly of 537 Maple died Tuesday at the Center of Care.

Cora Dahl was born in Milwaukee and moved to Eau Claire in her childhood. She lived in rural Elk Mound for many years and mojed back to Eau Claire in 1962. She worked at Luther Hospital for 10 years. Survivors include a brother, Harold, Colfax; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 1:30 p.m.

Friday at Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church, rural Elk Mound, with, burial in' the Freeman Smith MENOMONIE FreemanSmith. 70. 190? N. First died Tuesday while cutting' wood in the 300 block of W. Wilson Avenue.

He was born in Wisconsin and married Doris Beguhn April 2. 1946, in Horsehead, N.Y. He' formerly owned and operated the Flattop Cafe and gas station and Smitty's Garboligy Disposal Service, both in Menomonie, retiring about four years ago. He was a World War II veteran. Survivors include his wife; a son.

Jack, rural Menomonie; three daughters. Rita Stoeklen, Deronda. Alice Scheel, Joanne Harrison, both of Menomonie; two brothers. Harley, Menomonie, Harry, rural Knapp; 16 grandchildren four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 1 a.m.

She lived in Rockford, for several years before returning to the Menomonie area, where she retired. Survivors include her husband, Glenn, Menomonie; four sons, David Devore, Milton. Richard Devore, Green Bay, Sam Devore, Eau Claire', Clifford Devore, Washington, D.C; four brothers, Lester, Bennett, Clifford, Rockford.

Art. Peoria, Dennis. Kenosha; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church, Menomonie, with burial in Rose.

Services were Monday for Larry Gilbertson, 68, formerly of Jackson County, who died Friday at Arlington Hospital. He was born in Black River Falls and married Ruth Fink April 23, 1941, in Black River Falls. He graduated from the University of Minnesota and received his law degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1942. He was a World War II veteran and was Jackson County district attorney from 1947 to 1951. He representedIackson County as a state Assembly member from 1951 to 1953 and practiced law in Black River Falls in 1954 before joining the Small Business Administration in" Washington, D.C.

He served as legislative counsel of the Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce in 1953-54. He held several executive positions with the. Small Business Administration and as a legal counsel for the Variable Annuity Insurance Co. of America, Washington. He became general counsel of the Small Business Administration in 1959 and also was assistant vice president of the New York Life Insurance, Co.

He was the senior vice president and special counsel of Aetna Insurance Cos. before retiring in 1981. He also was a former president of the District of Columbia Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. He was a member of the American Legion' and served as vice commander of the legion for the District of Columbia. Survivors include his wife; a son, Larry, New York City; two daughters, Linda Rogers, Carol Gamett, both of Arlington; three sisters, Mary Kent, Brookfield, Lorraine Ritland, Whitehall, Helen Kunes, Canoga Park, Calif.

Services were at Faith Lutheran Church, with burial in Columbia Cemetery, both in Arlington. Murphy Funeral Home handled arrangements. Elizabeth Campbell BIRCHWOOD Elizabeth Milliran Campbell, 60, Route 2, Lane, died Tuesday at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire, Elizabeth Milliran was' born in Eau Claire and married Norman Campbell Aug. 6, 1949, in Eau Claire. She graduated from Wisconsin State College at Eau Claire with a degree in secondary education.

She taught advanced math and biology at Tomah High School for two years and taught in junior high and upper elementary schools in Des Plaines, 111., for 12 years before retiring in June 1982. She was treasurer of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Des Plaines, III. Survivors include-her husband; two daughters, Patricia Schmidt, Burke, Jane Groblewski, Plymouth: a sister, Jane White, Eau Claire; and four grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m.

Friday at Lake Street United Methodist Church. The body will be cremated. Friends may call an hour before ser-. vices at the church! The family suggests memorials to Birchwopd United Methodist Church, Birchwood. The Cremation Society of Wisconsin handled arrangements.

She moved to Rhinelander in 1981. Survivors include two sisters, Annie Suthers, Mineral Point. Florence Johnson, Elgin, a granddaughter, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He married Hattie Urness. Survivors include a daughter, Inez Halvorson, Eleya; three brothers, Walter, Duane, both of Eau Claire, Marvin, 1 Mondovi: a sister.
