Mrs. Frank Reibold Secretary Carroll County Agricultural Extension Council Oct. 28, 1970 Curt Flood And Senators Agree 'I On Salary Terms WASHINGTON (AP) — •Outfielder Curt Flood, engaged in an antitrust battle over baseball's reserve clause, has come to salary terms with the Washington Senators, the Washington Post reported today. The newspaper said Flood flew from Copenhagen for a weekend meeting with Senators owner Robert E. Short in New York. Flood's salary was estimated at more than the $90,000 he was paid by the St. Louis Cardinals. Short and baseball Commissioner Bowie Kuhn declined comment on the story. Flood, the Post said, presumably returned to Denmark after, the New York meeting. I "It is believed that Short did not insist that Flood withdraw his antitrust suit against organized baseball while playing for the Senators," the newspaper said. • "Short is dealing with Flood in the hope the commissioner's office will consent to the player's return to the game if he sjgris the standard reserve-clause ^contract and despite the still-pending damage suit by Flood, "i After he was traded by* the Cardinals to Philadelphia, Flood Mrs. Lawrence Clausen, Exira, women's chairman.
