Lance Cpl. Robert D. Ford, son of Mr. and Mrs. John H.

Ford of Route 2, Duncannon, is serving with the 2d Marine regiment, an infantry unit of the 2nd Marine Division at Camp Lejeune, N.C. Before enlisting in September, 1958, he graduated from Susque- nita High School. The Regiment conducts a continuous and intensive training program to keep abreast of the latest tactics in modern warfare and the Corps' latest concept of vertical envelopment. Under this concept, practiced at the world's largest amphibious training base, Marines employ both helicopters and armored landing craft to attack the enemy simultaneously from front and rear, thus maintaining their status as part of the Marine Corps' force-in-readiness. The bride, a graduate of Susquenita High School, is employed by P.P.&L. Her husband, also a graduate of Susquenita High School, attended Lebanon Valley College and is employed by the Firestone Co.
