Pftf* 2B NEWS-HERALD, Panama City, Fla., Friday, Juno 21,1974 Women Softballers Launch ON READY-Dorothy Waters, Lynda Lebel, Kathy Lynch and Laurie Elliott of Surplus annd Salvage Sales team are ready for the opening of the 10th annual Southeastern Invitational women's slow pitch Softball tonight at Oakland Terrace Park. Suburban Realty of Pensacola will be striving to make It three women's Southeastern slow pitch Softball tournament championships in a row tonight through Sunday at Oakland Terrace Park. The 10th annual tourney kicks off with 12 games tonight at Oakland Terrace's four fields, with the other eight teams In the 32-team field coming In Saturday morning at 8 for their first games. Games are slated all day Saturday through 11 p.m., with the final tilts starting at 1 p.m. on Sunday. The tourney Is double-elimination. Suburban Realty Is slated to PCC Winners Panama Country Club women golfers played a blind nine tournament Thursday. Riz2uto's Pizza plays Tallahassee Stars, Sharron Insurance meets Milton Rebels and Surplus & Salvage Sales plays Milton Charterettes. Teams are entered from as far away as Chattanooga and Dalton, Ga. In fact, four teams are coming from that area. Teams are entered from Atlanta, Mobile and Montgomery as well as Gainesville and St. Augustine from central Florida. The tournament is featured by the entry of four teams that made it to last year's national meet-Montgomery Generals, Mobile Colts, Getz Girls of Atlanta and Vols of St. Augustine. Another entry is the Zep Stars of Albany, who were runners-up to the Generals in last year's Alabama-Georgia region playoffs. The generals and Vols reign as state champions while Colts and Getz Girls rule as metro kings.
